Summer is almost here!!
Summertime is a hot time for kids to train and really lock in on getting better! What are you guys most excited for this summer? I would have to say the availability opening up a lot more! I love being able to work people out during the day and also at night!

I think I’m most excited to see a lot of the high level guys train and put in their offseason work.
What makes a high school player stand out?
If you were a college scout what are the 3 most important things you are looking for when watching a high schooler play?
Wildcat set for offense
I have come up with a 4 player set on offense called wildcat. The main concept of the set is off ball screening. To start the set the point guard(1) starts with the ball at the top of the key. The shooting guard(2) is on the right wing. The small forward(3) is in the right corner. The power forward(4) is on the left elbow. The 2 is going to set a pin down screen for the 3, as the 3 comes off the screen the 1 is going to pass him/her the ball. Right after the 2 sets the pin down screen for the 3 they are going to run towards the left elbow and set an away screen for the 4 to roll of and go towards the basket. The first look in this set is a shot by the 3 after coming up off the pin down screen. The second look is if the shot is not available then to hit the 4 on the way to the basket.
Where would you go??
I used to think about this question all the time when I was a kid. If you were a 5 star and could go to any school in the country where would you go? Also what would be more important to you, the receiving of NIL or the preparation for the NBA?

I would have to pick Duke because I have been a fan since I was a little kid. Duke has also had some of the most elite NBA players come from them. The NIL does not concern me, I would much rather prepare for the NBA.
Do you consider foul baiting a skill
Working with a lot of young players these days, I’ve noticed an increase in foul baiting. I understand where it comes from kids are watching the NBA and see players using it to their advantage at the highest level. However, it raises an important question: how do we teach young athletes the essence of the game while addressing behaviors like foul baiting?

As much as I dislike it sometimes I do believe it is a skill. Being able to add “foul baiting” to your arsenal adds a whole new level to your offensive game.
