What is your experience with clothes made of seersucker cotton and where to look for shirts, pants made this way?

Today I went with my safari-esque casual look with khaki jacket and black jeans. I have a bit of a lighter day and Caitlin woke me up 3 times last night so I thought I would take it easy. I'm thinking about such a flannel shirt and I wonder if: 1) You can wear a sweater and a shirt underneath. If so, I'd love to see some inspiration or styling suggestions 2) The shirt, especially this one, should be fitted or looser?
