Are you comfortable about the idea of charging high-ticket prices?
This is definitely the #1 thing that kept me stuck for so long. I'm now able to charge high-ticket, but it was a long journey. You might have the best offer in the world, but if you have an emotional block around charging, you might stay stuck without clients for a while, which is not what we want Just recorded a video sharing the shifts that happened for me before I was able to finally charge more money for my business. Let me know if you can relate to this. Is this something you are struggling with?

I like the idea of tiered sales - and for me that starts with Free, then entry level courses ($10 to $200 each) and from there I want to move to memberships that are tiered (with multi course and resource access) which range from $47, $97 per month - then premium courses $497, $997, $1200 - then to Mastery Event Programs (Complete Training, Coaching, Consulting, Manuals, Forms etc) that is $12,000 for three days and then coaching and consulting for the next 10 months by online meetings and phone/email. Sounds crazy I know (to some) but two of the primary focus areas I cover (Real Estate and Trucking are highly specialized and indepth beyond entry level). What I can teach will save decades of trial and error (and ONE mistake can cost far more than that!)
Why building an online business feels heavier than it should
Here's a pattern I see over and over - and honestly, something I lived through myself for years. A lot of people aren’t stuck because they’re doing "nothing". They’re stuck because they’re doing a lot… without any real signal. Creating content. Thinking about offers. Building ideas, communities, plans. But without: - real feedback - real conversations - or a real human “yes” everything starts to feel heavy, lonely, and confusing. If you'd like to know: - why working hard without feedback messes with your confidence - how “preparation mode” can feel productive while keeping you disconnected from reality - and why building things without people inside them feels so exhausting Take 5 minutes out of your day and watch the video I just recorded If this resonates, I’m curious: Where do you feel most right now: in preparation, or in reality?

Great information Lara. Thanks for sharing it. I feel like I am right on the very razors edge of something potentially massively successful - yet it feels like a difficult climb lifting an impossible amount of weight to just get it there ; )

@Lara Bruyelles Online courses - once I create the course, launch it and a few little things I have to do the courses are almost passive income (I call that SEMI - Passive - play on words and in reality it is much more accurate - also much more close to reality than what so many others are WRONGLY calling passive - but I digress - that could be a long conversation by itself ; ) I created a course - then another and started making SOME money almost immediately. So I made more courses and launched them and now I have quite a few. If you are really curious go to Udemy and look up "L.D. Sewell" that will pull up all of my Udemy courses - though I do have a few others on other platforms that is where I started and that is still where most of my courses are. So when they sell (and many sell every month - some more than others) I get paid. And that is , was and always will be VERY nice... Now that is one of the things I am teaching others who want to learn - how to create their own online courses and get sales. The "job" part is just that - I ALSO work a full time job as an employee and run a Training Program for that company. I train, supervise and lead other Instructors - and I still teach and train students directly too. I do enjoy all of that and always will - and that is another thing I am now starting to do more of teach people how to be Instructors either ONLINE or in real life face to face. Both are FUN and REWARDING --- for people who like it and who take the time to LEARN how... Hormozi... in large part. I like him and respect what he has accomplished and is still doing. I had hear of Skool - and had glanced at it - on first impression did NOT like it much at all (I have seen just about every imaginable COMMUNITY and COURSE platform you can think of and quite a few you probably cant even imagine) so it takes a lot to impress me with such things. But saw a few of his videos and then started taking a closer look - and the fact I could launch it for a few dollars (vs $100 or more a month many others want) A N D it has a built in COURSE platform (Classroom) that is simple, easy and functional - so here I am. Playing the long game and working day by day to continue expanding my little Publishing and Training business.

@Lara Bruyelles Thanks Lara. Courses can be fun and profitable. Many people get frustrated quickly because they don't get it - they spend way to much time and effort trying to perfect some mastery course and then get frustrated and upset when it doesn't sell and make them a ton of money immediately (if at all). I came from a different back ground and angle - and that was I was already an Instructor and had been for many years as part of my work - training by that time already thousands of people over the years. When I stumbled upon online courses and the opportunity to become an ONLINE Instructor I was actually researching and looking for conference and classroom space to teach LIVE events... but some how I found Udemy. There was a link that said become and Instructor... so I clicked it, applied ad got approved. Then I started studying other courses and course creators/Instructors. I look for PATTERNS in everything I do (military habit) and I noticed that many people would put up ONE course and then disappear with little success if any. I also noticed that most who succeeded (Not all but most) had SEVERAL courses and I studied their lay out, formats, length etc. - and combined that with what I already new from years of training people face to face in person. My approach was build the first course, launch it and not worry about it - I got to work on the next, and then the next and before you know it I was getting paid. Just a few dollars, then more, then more and as I added more courses I made more money - eventually multiple hundred and into above a thousand some months month after month. That was MANY years ago and I have continued to make money each and every month since (for YEARS) and I still do - and I love that! Some do far better than me - I now people (a lot of them) who make multiple thousands and and some multiple tens of thousands from their courses. Is that reality for most (including me so far) - NOPE.
The best coaching opportunity in 2026
I just published a new YouTube video that came from a lot of recent conversations I’ve been having, both inside and outside of Skool. Over the past weeks, I’ve been working with 1:1 clients, and I keep noticing the same patterns: - People thinking low-ticket is safer when starting - People building communities and waiting to monetize - People feeling stuck even though they’re “doing all the right things” What I share in this video is not theory, it's what actually worked for me when I was starting - without an audience, without certifications, and without a website. One of the biggest shifts for me was realizing that: Starting with 1:1 coaching first makes everything else easier - including building a community. The community can grow passively while you do the real work:Helping people deeply, getting results, and building confidence. If you’re curious about: - Why low-ticket often slows people down - Why most communities never make money - Why 1:1 coaching makes even more sense with AI coming in - And what kind of people I think will actually win in 2026 You can watch the video below 👇 And as always - if you’re watching it and you’re unsure how to turn your idea or skill into a clear offer, post it here or DM me. Happy to give feedback. Cheering you on 🤍

@Lara Bruyelles That's a good question - and I have many. I am finally about to publish my first novel in a few more days (edit, format etc) and that has been a labor of love and the hardest thing I think I have ever done so far - in many ways. Even though I missed my self imposed deadline (will be over by almost a month) its still done. I have multiple other projects and goals - and more courses. But if I had to choose just one for now - I would say to get all of our VIP Founding Member Plank Owners ( First 100 ) in our community and make it paid for all others after that. Got a ways to go since we have 18 total at the moment (17 more than we started with though ; ) So get more members and get above 100 in our community ideally in the next 90 days.

@Lara Bruyelles all initial members (up to 100) including all here now are FREE and will be FREE for life (grandfathered in) because they are Plank Owner Founding Member VIPs and will be for LIFE (so long as they never leave ; ) THEY (many but not all - because some have other objectives) will become our COMMUNITY EXPERTS and our primary Instructors, Coaches, Mentors and collaborators and will be able to have courses and content inside our community AND direct links and promotions to THEIR OWN courses and communities so they can provide more indepth training, coaching mentoring etc. on the things they are (or will become) experts and authorities on - or at least that is the idea and the plan. We will see in time how it works out... ; )
