Intro
Hi, please call me Selah. I live in Washington state (USA). I’ve been in a transition phase after burning out from self-employment during COVID, where I started a business without a solid plan. I’m passionate about organizational development and performance improvement. Feel free to ask me anything—I love researching and problem-solving (it’s my favorite procrastination tactic!! 😄). My past business focused on home improvements, so I can help with that too. I hope this community helps me: 1. TAKE ACTION – I have many plans and the necessary supplies, but I struggle with consistent execution. For example, I’ve been planning a bathroom renovation but haven’t started due to fear of inconsistency. 2. FIND MYSELF AGAIN – I don’t like who I’ve become in the past 6-8 years and want to reconnect with my community-oriented, active self. For fun, I enjoy: • Being outdoors (hiking, running, biking) • Creating (building, drawing, painting, woodworking, gardening, writing) • Laughing 😊 Picture is of my two dogs, Jasmine (left) and Brody (right), soon to be 15 y.o. and 13 y.o. Hi @Selah Helas - love your pups Jasmine & Brody! 🥰 My boy is called Ozzy, he’s 3 & been with us just under 2 months; he’s amazing. Our little angel rescue Ben was 18 when he crossed the rainbow bridge. ❤️ Dogs are the best! We have similar creativity loves. Painting, drawing, & writing. I’m with you on the confusion over who I’ve become. Perimeni hit me in my second year at uni in 22/23 and it was a huge struggle. I was diagnosed last week - and 💡! Pic of Ben when he was younger. Ozzy is in my introduction. ❤️

@Selah Helas I’m 50 now & I graduated in ‘24, so I started feeling it in the ‘22/‘23 school year. I sat on my bed one day after uni (I moved away for the 3 years & came home every couple of weeks) and I felt like I was in a tunnel moving backwards; I was looking at my wardrobe & it was moving further away and dimming out. I had lots of inside dialogue that was very dark. At one point I couldn’t cope with an a**hole teacher & nearly quit. it was this dialogue of not being good enough - feeling awkward in places - not being able to connect with others; and during a trip to Denmark I had a mild panic over some of our group splitting up (which I didn’t know about) and the teacher told me off like I was a child because I embarrassed her in front of the uni we were visiting! Social situations got really bad & I couldn’t figure out what was wrong me with. I would put things down, forget where I’d put them & then freak out because I had lost them or accused people of stealing them. The doc told me I was stressed! I was referred to talking therapies. They concluded it was perimeni - but nobody mentioned ADHD. A few people from uni asked if I had it - as they have it & felt that I did.

Love this @Denise Bush! I agree with @Johann Sigurdsson! Time blindness is something I need to address as well. I’d only heard of it recently. How does time blindness affect you? I’ve started using a 2 minute timer for small tasks to get started, then a 25 minute timer for longer tasks - but if I forget to set a timer… 🫣🤣 Digital Marketing is my next learning focus, it’s an incredible skill to have - it’s all changed so much since I last took a course on it. Also, I believe you could be master of all! 💪🤩

@Denise Bush ha! I hear that! Practice what you preach - what?! 🫣🤣 Some days it gets to the afternoon & I realised I didn’t brush my teeth. If I don’t do it first thing after taking my pills - it’s gone out of my head. 🤦‍♀️

@Lone Kirkegaard I’m sorry that happened to you. He sounds like somebody that you should allow karma to deal with. But I totally understand how something like that can attempt to derail you. This morning my partner was losing his mind over filling out an online form & I felt confident in myself to not allow him to transfer it onto me - first time in a long time. Being in this group is so empowering. Sebring hugs.

Getting it done!
I love reading everyone’s tips & tricks, thank you for sharing! I’m really looking forward to absorbing the challenge for the coming days. Yesterday, instead of doomscrolling for the time I had before the dog sitter arrived I chose to open my laptop & do some work on my to do list. In 90 minutes I added a contact page & some photos to my website, rearranged a couple of pages, added cross-links to socials, setup & uploaded a video to my YouTube channel, & logged back into my Shopify account that had been dormant for 3 months. I also checked off some things from my to do list that I’d done but not ticked. I love the ‘ching’ sound it makes! But, I also added some things to my to do list off the back of what I did above - but it felt good to be focussed. 🎉🎉🎉
