What January Is Really Asking For
Something I’m holding as this new year begins: What we often label as overconsumption isn’t a willpower issue; it’s a nervous system response. Food. Scrolling. Shopping. Drinking. TV. Busyness. These are learned pathways to comfort and relief, especially after periods of stress, transition, or emotional load. January usually answers with more structure and discipline. But what if this month is less about tightening control and more about understanding what we’re actually seeking? Comfort. Safety. Relief. This January, I’m practicing curiosity instead of self-correction, tending to the need beneath the behaviour. Curious to hear: When you’re tired or overwhelmed, what do you notice you reach for first? No fixing required. 🤍

@Nyssa Stem Thank you for sharing this, Nyssa. 🤍 Reaching for reading makes so much sense; it’s a quiet way of creating space, settling the mind, and letting the body rest without needing to disengage completely. I love how you noticed it with awareness rather than judgment. That kind of noticing is already a form of care. It’s gentle, nourishing, and tells you something about what your system is asking for in those moments. 📖✨
A Different Way to Begin January (1:1 Beta)
As the New Year begins, I’m noticing how quickly pressure sneaks in, often before anything has actually gone wrong. January often arrives with a lot of unspoken pressure. I’m curious what happens when we begin with steadiness instead. I’m opening a small 1:1 January Beta for midlife women who are ready for a calmer, more supportive way to change their relationship with food, weight, and their bodies without dieting, forcing, or self-correction. This is private, one-on-one coaching, created for women who know effort isn’t the issue. Pressure stopped working. Their body is asking for a different kind of support. What this beta focuses on Instead of plans or rules, we work from the inside out by: • quieting the inner voice that drives pressure and emotional eating • rebuilding self-trust and nervous system safety • creating change that feels steady, grounded, and sustainable A core part of this work uses Positive Intelligence® (PQ) to help identify and soften Saboteur patterns (Judge, Pleaser, etc.) and strengthen your ability to pause, choose, and follow through with compassion. Structure • 12-week private 1:1 coaching experience • Weekly sessions + ongoing support • Phase 1 of a larger inner-to-outer transformation Beta details • Founding-member beta investment: $1,850 (regular $2,700) • Payment plan available • Limited to 5 private clients so I can support each woman deeply If this resonates, you can learn more or join the waitlist here: 👉 January Beta waitlist No pressure, simply sharing for the women who feel ready to begin January differently. 🤍

A Different Way to Begin January (1:1 Beta)
🪞Reflective Moment
Knowing what to do in your business doesn’t always mean you can do it consistently. Sometimes the gap isn’t clarity — it’s capacity. I’m curious, have you noticed that in your own work?

So true. 🤍 I notice that when capacity is low, even the clearest plans feel heavy. It’s been helpful for me to stop asking, “Why can’t I just do this?” and start asking, “What’s true about my capacity right now?” That shift alone creates more compassion and often, more consistency.
☎️ Hello 2026 - I’m No Longer Available for Chaos
This morning, the heaviness 🫣 of the end-of-year season finally surfaced. Holiday wrap-up Family obligations Business loose ends Moody teens 48-hours of insomnia & brain fog That low-grade chaos that quietly hums in the background this time of year. And Scott looked at me and said, “You don’t deal well with chaos. You kind of run away from it.” And my response was simple: "You're absolutely right!" At 56, I don’t want chaos in my life anymore. ❌ I don’t want to white-knuckle family obligations when my body is asking for rest. ❌ I don’t want to stress over my business because I need to hustle out one more offer just to hit a number. ❌ I don’t want to feel behind, guilty, or irresponsible for honoring my energy. This is the season of life where I want to feel at ease with my decisions. Fulfilled by my relationships. Spacious in my calendar. Free to travel, explore, and rejuvenate when I’m tired. I want to start client calls at 11am if I’ve been dealing with insomnia for five days —and feel zero guilt about it. Because at this stage of life? I don’t need a medal for persevering. I don’t need a trophy for another hack-a-thon. I don’t need flowers for surviving. I’ve already earned the right to choose what good looks like. And here’s the part I want to say clearly — especially to the women reading this: We do not need to acquiesce to chaos. We do not need to wear over-responsibility as a badge of honor. We do not need to earn rest by exhausting ourselves. And we certainly don’t need to build businesses that punish us for having a life. This is exactly why I built the Aligned AF Life & Business Mastermind. Not as another push. Not as another performance arena. But as a container for women who are done confusing chaos with commitment. Inside this mastermind, we build businesses that: ✨ Generate recurring, predictable revenue ✨ Don’t rely on adrenaline or constant launches ✨ Are grounded in lived experience — not proving ✨ Support real life, real bodies, real seasons

Yes!!! 🤍 Not being available for chaos feels like wisdom, not avoidance, especially at this stage of life. We don’t need to earn rest by exhausting ourselves. Love it!!!
Beginning January differently
As January approaches, I keep coming back to this: Starting over isn’t the same as starting supported. This season has me thinking more about safety, self-trust, and how change actually lasts, especially for midlife women who are tired of pushing themselves forward. I’m holding space for a calmer way to begin the year, one rooted in listening rather than fixing. Just sharing in case this lands for anyone else navigating this transition. 🤍
