What Apps Are You Using to Practice?
I’m curious, what apps are actually helping you improve right now (other than a basic tuner and metronome app)? Drop the name of the app + how you use it in your practice routine. Bonus: If you’ve tried a bunch and found one you don’t recommend, tell us why!

Musescore. I am an "amateur" musician, returning to music after 39 years (in 2016 joined a Community Band with an "open door" policy). I have not had the time blowing into an instrument that 1st chair musicians have. Others, like me, are playing catch-up and need all the help we can get! I found Musescore on the web. How can you not download something that powerful, and for FREE? All you had to do is LEARN the keyboard shortcuts to whiz through typing up a composition. (I also bought the physical manual which helps look up tasks -- although the electronic version is on the web, I need a tangible book!) I rely heavily on the program's PLAYBACK window that allows the user to change the playback tempo, and to create a loop to concentrate on a certain difficult section. I've used it to transpose Db piccolo to "C", as well as "C" to "G" for an alto flute. I have used it to manipulate difficult music pieces to my ability by taking a stream of 16th notes down to staccato 8th notes. The program can be found on the internet from Version 4.xx that only works on Windows 10/11. And, an internet search for legacy Version 3.6.2 can be downloaded to work on Windows 7/8. I believe that trying to "import" a scanned PDF (or jpeg) would be difficult for any composition program. Doing so in Musescore only results in a bunch of gibberish. The program will import many different formats from other music.

I am relegated to a computer. No smart phone (only land line).

The music instructors that I had were from school. I would stay after to have music lessons. I was taught vibrato by using jaw manipulation. Others are telling me that I should be using my diaphragm. Can you demonstrate proper technique?
