Chasing the hype or understanding clients?
Good day community! For a long time I was exactly like many of us right now. Every time a new AI tool dropped, I’d jump on it immediately. New prompting trick? Tried it. Shiny new platform? Signed up the same day. I was constantly chasing the next hype, thinking that the latest tech would be the thing that finally moved the needle. But I was wrong. I found a tweet yesterday that made me feel stupid. In Spanish, it said something like this: “The real business isn’t in the hype of every new AI tool. It’s in truly understanding the customer’s problem, often better than they understand it themselves.” This tweet made it clear: AI gives us incredibly powerful tools, but figuring out what each business actually needs, what pain is keeping their customers up at night, and how to solve it in a meaningful way, that part is still deeply human work. So I want to slow down. Less chasing shiny objects, more deep conversations with customers. Less “what’s the newest AI trick?” and more “what problem are we actually trying to solve here?” Would love to hear from you, are you also trying to stay grounded in the customer problem while still using AI? Or are you still riding the hype wave like I was?

Fantastic perspective and yes it can be easy to get swept up in the hype from the biggest players dropping their latest build day-after-day! Customer needs is definitely the most important - that and understanding the foundations, otherwise it's magnifying underlying issues. I'm diving into customer journey info atm and it's honestly the first best move to make. Thanks for sharing!
The Journey Story — Zero to first £4,500 ConstructionX AI client
I’m 46. I spent 30 years on the tools. I joined Nate’s AIS Skool community in October last year. This morning a UK construction MD emailed me four words I’ll remember for the rest of my life: “Can we proceed with phase-1 please.” Here’s how it happened. Today, the MD of a UK construction firm emailed me four words I’ll remember for the rest of my life. “Can we proceed with phase-1 please.” £4,500 Phase 1 build. 50% deposit on start, 50% on delivery, two-week go-live guarantee. Signed verbally Tuesday evening, confirmed in writing this morning. This is not a victory lap. This is a story for anyone in this community sitting where I was sitting back in October when I first showed up. If I can do this, you absolutely can. Here’s how it actually happened. Where I came from 30 years on the tools. 20 of them co-founding a construction firm that grew from 2 people to 70. I’m 46. I started teaching myself AI in early 2025. Properly self-taught. No degree, no tech background, just YouTube and reading and breaking things and fixing them. The timeline that matters for this room: - 23 June 2025 I joined Liam Ottley’s AAA Skool community. Still a member today. - 15 September 2025 I incorporated ConstructionX AI Ltd at Companies House. - October 2025 I joined Nate Herk’s AIS Skool community. - November 2025 I joined AIS+. - Late January 2026 I stepped up into Liam’s paid AAA Accelerator tier. Still a member today. - 13 February 2026 the workspace went live and I committed to two posts a day. - 14 May 2026 (today) the first £4,500 build signs through the productised funnel. The brand had been quietly forming for months before the daily build started. Domain registered, soft conversations, early demos for friends. The visible push did not really begin until February. So: - ~14 months teaching myself AI - 8 months since incorporation - 7 months in this room - 6 months in AIS+ - 3 months of daily public building - Today, the first £4,500 build Not slowly, not quickly. Just relentlessly.

Huge congrats to you @Jody Murfit! Thank you for sharing so much detail for us newbies. It's an enormous amount of work and dedication you've put in and it shows. It's such an exciting area to be in and it's a solid amount of training. Looking forward to all of it!
7-Day Challenge - Day 1: Newsletter build
Hi all! 👋 Happy to share my first newsletter build. Was a cool feeling to see it in my email inbox! Whilst some parts took me a while (was my first proper session inside VS Code with CC), I managed to make my way through. I cannot believe all the things we can do now and I haven't even scratched the surface. I thought it would be a bit more of a struggle but Nate's training is top notch. I used OpenAI API rather than Nano Banana. Absolutely nothing beats "getting your hands dirty". Things I learned - everything needs context. Keep iterating if you haven't gotten the outcome you want. AI is not a magic fix for everything (but it sure is fun!). I've also signed up for n8n academy, Postman and some general learning about JSON.

7-Day Challenge - Day 1: Newsletter build
7 Day Challenge
I've just started the 7 Day Challenge. Hoping to learn as much as possible. New to AI automations and looking to dive in. I want to do AI automations consulting (& eventually building too). This is the best knowledge base and network. Anyone else currently in the challenge? #AISChallenge
