Live Steaming
Any musicians here live streaming their performances? I’m interested to hear if anyone else is live streaming their music, either from a home studio or at live gigs. I currently stream on Twitch, both from my home studio and when I’m out performing live. I’m also interested in exploring other platforms and ways of reaching a wider audience. Is anyone else streaming on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook or other platforms? I’d be interested to hear what platforms you’re using, how you’re finding the experience, and whether streaming has helped you build an audience or connect with other musicians. Would be great to compare experiences and ideas!

Dang! @Paul Trevaskis that’s quite the set up you have in place!! You’re sounding great. I would love to live stream gigs, but I’m still capturing and editing live footage. I’m only a handful of gigs into my solo journey.
WHERE'S EVERYONE PLAYING THIS WEEKEND?
Thought we'd try something a little different this week! If you've got a gig coming up this weekend, let us know where you're playing, what sort of gig it is and what part of the world you're in. Pub, club, wedding, corporate gig, private party or a three-hour acoustic set in the corner while everyone watches the football. 😂 And if you're NOT gigging this weekend, let us know what you're up to instead. You never know, there might be another Pro Muso member just around the corner who could pop in and say hello! So, who's playing where this weekend? 🎸

@Andrew Richardson I know Ron! Not well, but we’ve met at a songwriters circle! Wow! Small world, eh?

@Brendan Duffy lol. It’s like they ate you and left your amp! https://www.facebook.com/share/r/17h29CH2sZ/?mibextid=wwXIfr Maybe try these? 🤣
First time at a new venue was a complete success!
Hey gang! Just wanted to share a little good news from a gig last weekend. I played a new venue, a barbecue restaurant with a full bar. They normally book country solo performers, and I was the first act they’ve had who is primarily classic rock (with a little country mixed in). I thought the first set went pretty well, but when I stepped off stage for my first break, the owner/manager came rushing up to me and said he wanted to book me for more dates — without even hearing the rest of my show! Needless to say, that made me feel pretty darn good. The rest of the night just kept getting better and better. It looks like I’ll now be playing there once a month. Always nice when a new venue turns into a regular gig!

@Robert Roe hey, congratulations!! That’s great news. And thanks for sharing your win with us. It’s inspiring!
🎵 Would You Use a SIMPLE Lyrics App?
I'm working on a new app at the moment and I'd really like some feedback from the gigging musicians in here before I go too far down the rabbit hole. The idea is deliberately simple. A lyrics and setlist app for musicians who DON'T need 400 features and an engineering degree to work out how to use it. 😂 It won't have MIDI or a heap of complicated automation. The focus is on making the things most of us actually need onstage really easy: - Create and organise setlists - Lyrics with simple autoscroll - Easily change the font size - Add chords directly into your lyrics - Clean, simple interface - Quick to set up and easy to use during a gig Basically, build your setlist, open the song, hit scroll and play. I'm already building it, but I'd love some input from people who actually gig. Would you use something like this? And more importantly, what ONE feature would you consider essential in a simple lyrics/setlist app? I'm deliberately trying to avoid feature creep, so don't turn it into the cockpit of a 747 just yet. 😂

I would love to be able to customize the order of songs in a setlist, organize songs in groups (uptempo, ballads, Latin, etc) and I would love to be able to adjust the font size on the LISTS so I don’t have to put on readers to find a song! I agree with Brendan - one sheets are best. If it’s 2 pages, it would be cool to be able to see 2 pages at once.

@Martin Creathorn yes!!!
Mash Ups
I do three of them: Stand By Me/Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For; Three Little Birds/Drift Away; and (sigh) Brown Eyed Girl/I'm a Believer. I'd like to do more of them - give me some ideas!

@Martin Creathorn absolutely - only in very specific circumstances! It is a long, slow mash up for sure.
