📍 A small grounding question
I want to offer one quiet check-in today. If your book had to help one child: not a market, not an audience…just one real child… Who are they in that moment? Not the whole story. Not the lesson. Just the situation. Is it a child who is: • missing someone • feeling left out • trying something hard for the first time • holding a secret worry • learning how to be brave • feeling angry and not sure why If you want to respond, you can do it this simply: “This book is for a child who is ______.” One sentence is enough. No explanations. No feedback needed. If you don’t feel ready to post, reading others still counts. We’re not rushing clarity here. We’re letting it arrive.

This book is for a child who is feels she doesn't fit into anywhere or with anyone and is feeling a bit lost.”
What stage is your book actually in right now?
One thing I’ve noticed with almost every writer (myself included) is that we often think we’re stuck… when we’re really just unclear about where we are. So let’s ground this 👇 Reply with the number that best fits you right now: 1️⃣ Idea in my head, not written yet 2️⃣ First draft in progress 3️⃣ First draft finished but something feels “off” 4️⃣ Revised + polished, unsure what’s next 5️⃣ Published but not reaching readers 6️⃣ Something else (tell us) No fixing. No pressure. Just clarity. I’ll reply with one focused suggestion for each of you based on where you are.

Love this thank you 😊.
Most people never finish their children’s book because of this (and it has nothing to do with talent)
I want to say something important …especially for those of you who have been quiet so far. Most people don’t fail at children’s books because they’re bad writers. They fail because they get stuck between stages: • an idea that feels personal • a draft that feels messy • fear of wasting money • confusion around publishing • no clear next step That gap is where momentum dies. And here’s the part nobody tells you: 👉 Silence doesn’t mean you’re behind. 👉 Quiet doesn’t mean you don’t belong here. 👉 Finished authors and first-time writers struggle with the same friction points — just at different stages. This community exists to remove friction. So let’s do something simple today: Reply to this post with ONE sentence: • “I’m stuck on ___” • “I’m working on ___” • or “My biggest question right now is ___” No pressure. No polish needed. Just clarity. I’ll personally respond and help you identify your next right step — not ten steps from now, just the next one. This is how books actually get finished. Let’s go. ✍️🔥

I'm working on setting the scene and feeling the characters who they are. My biggest question right now is has this book been written before in other ways, will a child like it and am I wasting my time. I know it's coming from my heart and soul, but does it really count. Very confused at the moment.
I just wanted to share this because I still find it incredible.
Three months ago, I published my book without high expectations; I only hoped a few people would read it. But life surprised me. Now I'm earning around $2,000 a week from it, and I'm still so thrilled because I remember how hard it was to earn even a few dollars. It's amazing how something you create can suddenly change your life. For those of you who have already launched a project... Have you ever experienced such rapid success?

Wow Joel congratulations. Such awesome news. Lovely to see and the books all very different but with a similar message of empowering kids 💜.

Hi I'm Lissa and I want to write a series of picture books teaching children different parts of spirituality. Not faith religion but the meaning of our Chakra system, crystals, angels etc. In a fun inspiring way. With the main character learning through her animal friends.

@Zack Bush , hi I realised I need to build the characters first and tell their stories then show the spiritual gifts through each animal. The story will centre around a little girl lost discovering she has magic and finding animal friends that help her. The book would be for 5-8 Yr old. The older age group, reading independently and younger with a parent at bedtime.
