Job Descriptions + D in the Take Your Meds Challenge
Check out yesterday's challenge post and add your comments (you'll be entered into a drawing every time you comment) JOB DESCRIPTIONS Job descriptions aren’t sexy or exciting, but they are quietly one of the most foundational documents in all of HR. And they touch far more processes than most organizations realize – everything from recruiting and onboarding to compensation to legal compliance. Are yours up to date, and are you using a proper format? Head over to the CLASSROOM if you’d like a JOB DESCRIPTION TOOLKIT. It’s free and provides you with a roadmap for developing or updating your job descriptions. ⁉️How often are job descriptions updated at your organization?

I work with alot of different clients since I am not currently in a corporate environment but I would say it is an overlooked task at times especially in making sure it has been reviewed if they have been using it for a particular opening for some time.
💊 Take Your MEDS Challenge – D = Diet
This week is the D for Diet. You are probably thinking, "Oh no, she didn't - not on Thanksgiving week." Well, we all get a pass for Thanksgiving Day. When I say DIET, I don’t mean go on one. I mean eat foods that nourish your body – protein, fruits, veggies. Limit sugar and processed foods. You know what to do! 👉 SHARE: What’s one thing you’ll do to focus on improving your diet this week? 🎁Each time you share, you're entered into a prize drawing.

I am looking to put high focus on fruits, veggies, and protein with more water everyday
💊 Take Your MEDS Challenge – E = Exercise & Movement
It’s Week 2 of the Challenge, and we’re focusing on exercise and movement. I know… cue the collective groan. Most of us have room to improve here! The CDC recommends about 30 minutes of activity most days, but the real key is this: do something you actually enjoy. If you hate running, don’t force yourself to train for a 5K. If you like to dance, try Zumba or a dance class. For those of us with desk jobs, remember sitting is the new smoking. Try to get up and stretch, walk, or move every couple of hours. 👉 SHARE: What’s one small thing you’ll do this week to move more? Don’t forget — sharing each week enters you into the prize drawing!

I block time in my calendar in the morning from 8 - 9:30 to go to gym, walk or take a class at the fitness center at least 3-4 times a week. I have a stand up desk and try to do that at least every hour stand 15 min ...
💊 Take Your MEDS Challenge – M = Mindfulness
It’s a stressful time of year, so I thought we could do a stress-busting challenge in the community, to the acronym MEDS. Mindfulness / Exercise & Movement / Diet / Sleep This week is the ‘M” Mindfulness is being fully present and aware of what’s happening right now — your thoughts, feelings, body, and surroundings — without judgment or distraction. It is one of the best ways to deal with stress. You can practice it by: ✅Deep breathing – my favorite is conscious breathing. Breathe in through your nose for 4, hold for 4, breathe out through your mouth for 4, hold for 4. Do it at least 3 times. ✅Set reminders on your phone to pause and be mindful. ✅Yoga or tai chi. ✅Walking in nature and focusing on the here and now. SHARE BELOW - “What’s one small thing you’ll do this week to be more mindful — at work or home?”

I'm in would love to participate and share - I plan to practice deep breathing in between my work appointments and take walks outside.
Monday Motivation
It may be cliché, but I think of November as the month of gratitude. As humans, we tend to go negative (goes back to fight or flight from ancient days). Gratitude can actually help rewire your brain to be more positive. 🙏So, let’s start the week by sharing 3 things you are grateful for!
