If you are here, you are early. And that matters. I have spent more than 25 years working and training in addiction treatment, mental health, certification development, justice systems and law enforcement, healthcare and workforce training. I have built programs, written curricula, advised organizations, and trained tens of thousands of professionals. Across that time, I have developed more than 600 courses and training modules. This space is where I begin releasing them strategically. Not randomly. Not scattered. Not watered down. Inside this community you will find: • Early access to upcoming trainings • Professional level education grounded in clinical and real world experience • Direct insight into how programs are built, structured, and delivered • Opportunities to influence what gets released next This is not surface level content. This is structured, experience driven training for people who take addiction and mental health seriously. If you are here, introduce yourself below. Tell me: 1. What field you are in or what brings you here 2. What population you serve 3. What training you wish existed but rarely find We are building this intentionally. You are not just joining a group. You are stepping into the foundation of something significant. Welcome to ST³.

Crystal, It was so heart warming to read the exact approach that we used for the women’s residence of Charlford House (can I say the name here?) I noticed something different from the moment I started there. Thelma opened the home on Charles St. In Burnaby in 1973. It was the first women's residential program followed by Aurora a couple of years later. Thma had been bringing hurting women to her home before then until her husband reminded her that he and the kids lived there too. This is what prompted Thelma to rent the house on Charles St. And called it Charlford House. I commented on the beginnings because that’s how it has been for 53 years. When I moved into the position there I could still feel the love and caring that permeated the walls for many years I realized the present day program embraces all the modalities and techniques necessary, but the only one I could feel was love. Everything cloaked with love, respect and a little bit of awe in these beautiful smart and sad women. As they went on to do other things Charlford House was still their home and the new women had a whole family and lots and lots of generations of sisters. Many still come back regularly to give back. It’s called love, genuine and important to each and everyone.of them. When I retired my legacy to this home (which took me in by proxy) was to write a book about how life was there in that magical place. It was called The Surrogate Family Model of Addiction Treatment for Women. I didn’t Publish it again but there are still copies floating around, and I do have the Print ready File. Charlford is Still using the model and so is Sisters in Recovery a new home for recovering women in Naniamo. Sorry about being long winded but I have never felt comfortable to speak at length about my experience there until I came here where trauma informed folks that are passionate about what the layers of complexities women face are standing for them as you do.
