Pain (0–10) | Energy (0–10) | One small win today (if any) P.s Everything counts 🤍
Pain: 6 Energy: 3 I did a bit more movement than usual yesterday, and I’m definitely feeling it today. Everything feels heavier, so I’m trying to slow down and be kind to my body instead of pushing through.

Understanding Fibromyalgia (In simple terms)
Fibromyalgia isn’t caused by damage to muscles or joints. It's a condition where the nervous system becomes overly sensitive, meaning it amplifies pain, fatigue, and sensory signals. That’s why pain can feel widespread, symptoms can change day to day, rest is necessary and not laziness, doing “too much” can cause delayed flares. Nothing about this means your pain isn’t real or that you’re weak. Your body is responding exactly how a sensitised nervous system does. Learning this can be a relief for many people, because it shifts the focus from fixing your body to supporting and protecting it 🤍
@Brittany Haney-Navetta Thank you so much for sharing this 🤍 that shift from being deeply connected to your body through movement, to feeling like it’s something you want to pull away from, is such a profound loss, and one that doesn’t get talked about enough. What you described after COVID, that slow realization that recovery wasn’t the same anymore, is something many here will recognise, even if the details differ. It makes so much sense that it’s been a huge mental and physical adjustment. The way you’re approaching this now, with compassion, curiosity, and a desire to reconnect gently rather than force your old self back, is really powerful. We’re very glad you’re here, and grateful you shared this with the group. You’re not alone in navigating this new relationship with your body 🤍

Daily Check‑In Pain: 4/10 Energy: 3/10 Today I’m trying to take things slower and listen to my body more. If anyone else feels like sharing how they’re doing today, I’d really love to hear from you 🤍
@Brittany Haney-Navetta Thank you for sharing 🤍 it makes total sense to feel more sore after snowblowing, even if it also felt good to move a bit. That balance between “this helped” and “my body’s paying for it” is so familiar. It’s really encouraging to hear the medication change might be easing some of that deeper pain and giving you a little more energy, even a small lift can mean a lot. And thank you for the Bird Buddy photo, that genuinely made me smile. I hope the rest of your day is gentle on you.
Fibro Sensory Overload
Many people with fibromyalgia have sensory overload, not just pain. Things like light, noise, temperature changes, clothing textures, or even multiple conversations can exhaust the nervous system and trigger flares. That’s why feeling overwhelmed doesn’t mean you’re “sensitive” — it means your nervous system is already working overtime.
