Forms, Chi-Sau, and Lat-Sau
Which one is your favorite thing to train and why?

My favorite thing to train in Wing Chun is Chi Sao. Not because it looks cool (though it does), but because it’s where everything in Wing Chun becomes honest. Chi Sao strips away strength, speed, and ego. You can’t fake structure, timing, or relaxation once you’re connected to another person. The moment you tense up, overthink, or chase hands, it tells on you immediately. It’s like a conversation where every lie gets exposed...

@Matthew WrightSuch insight is only possible because we have a great teacher—one who continually pushes us to our limits and then teaches us how to go beyond them. Either way, the heart of it is clear: progress isn’t accidental. It comes from being guided, challenged, and held to a higher standard by someone who’s already walked the path. That’s real kung fu wisdom.
