Introduction
Hi everyone, Lewis here. I’m a UK-based HSE Air Diver currently working in marine civil construction and subsea operations, with experience in inspection, corrosion protection, rigging and underwater installation. I hold HSE Scuba & Surface Supplied (with Wet Bell) and ADAS Part 3, along with additional certifications including Nitrox, Chamber Operator, RYA Powerboat Level 2, and VHF SRC. I’ve also recently completed OPITO Rigger & Banksman and NPORS slinging/rigging qualifications. Work to date includes projects with Royal Navy vessels, infrastructure inspection and maintenance, cofferdam installations, anode work, and subsea lifting support. I’ll be relocating to Australia in May to further develop my diving career, gain additional qualifications, and work towards offshore opportunities. Keen to learn from those with more experience and, as I progress, happy to share what I can and help others coming through as well. Looking forward to connecting with you all and getting involved.

US to International Transition
So I'm wanting to step outside the US to work. Specifically South Africa or Australia. I have a family and specialize in Marine Construction. Anyone American Divers have any experience navigating this transition? I've looked into the DCBC - Adas crossover and understand it, but after that I'm alittle confused with the citizenship part for Australia and getting the work visa. As for South Africa I wasn't able to come up with a solid route of getting in. All information is welcomed.

Hi Lewis to work in Australia you would need a working holiday visa to start then move onto a sponsorship 482 visa or a similar visa from a company unfortunately you would not be able to bring your family over until you have gotten sponsorship. Hope this helps I went though it myself so any questions feel free to ask
