Cold shower
I'm doing it! Started the cold shower technique daily. I started with a bit cool and working my way up adding a bit more cold water every week. It's not that bad actually and definately gives you that dopamine rush. Thank you Jim for the tip
Loop closed!!!
Woo hoo closed my loop of cleaning the kitchen window today. Was actually scheduled for Tuesday but had to unpack from my trip to Quebec to see my son and daughter-in-law. The window is sparkling clean now. Thank you Jim for all your work on putting this challenge together. I learned so much about myself and I am on the path to the new me. Thank you to this community. Everyone is so full of encouragement and it is wonderful to interact with you. I wish everyone all the best on their journey.
Day 4
The area that needs the most love for me is self confidence however I realise it doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with me means I have been harder on myself than I deserve. I also feel that a good to start is building trust in myself, rather than trying to suddenly “feel confident.” My evening routine was staying up to 12/1am and scrolling or playing games on my phone even though I was tired, then going to bed. However I would still do my 15 min meditation before going to sleep. I will now set alarm for 10:00 to put the phone down and read for a bit then get ready for bed by 11:00. I am unable to close my loop because I am in another province visiting my son and daughter-in-law and will not be home until Monday, however the loop will be closed on Tuesday. It is already on my calendar!
Day 3 ✅
It’s so interesting that each time I do this challenge I hit in different areas that I need to address. Today’s hidden belief is “I'm hopeless, I'll never get it done. I can't do it, I need someone to show me or do it for me." I think I’ve always like to be rescued because then I don’t have to worry about doing it wrong and being discovered as incapable. And yet, the interesting flip side is that when I work at my own pace with systems I understand and where I don’t have to worry about other’s sighing & eye-rolls I am capable and achieve lots. So the new code is…I can do what I need to when I’m working with my brain not against it.😉 I am highly capable when I put my systems in place.

I can absolutely relate to your entire post. I am completely capable of doing things when people are not looking over my shoulder, breathing down my back and pressuring me to do stuff. My husband gets annoyed with how slow I am with technology. I'm actually very good with technology at my own pace.
The belief that has been holding me back
I can't do anything right. The came from my mother who always picked out the slightest mistake in anything I did. I remember being older and I typed a 6 page essay for her that she wrote out by hand and the only thing she said was "you spelled week" wrong. No thank you, no appreciate you taking the time to do this. Rewriting my code: I can't do anything right - I may not get everything right, but I am learning, growing, and doing better than I realize. Future statement. “I may make mistakes, but my successes and growth are greater than my setbacks.”

Diagnosed with ADHD May 2026. It was a real eye opener. I have been coming to terms with it.
