Does drinking help with improv?!?
I think it's probably a bad idea to drink alcohol. However, I've heard several people report that it helped them overcome stage-fright and start improvising!! That's understandable I guess: don't they call it "liquid courage?" I've seen other communities host online Happy Hours where you can BYOB. I'm not saying I'm going to do that... But I won't fault you either if you have a few sips of liquid courage before Improv Games! I don't think it will help you play your scales more "cleanly" 🤪 But it might help you get over the hump of starting. Starting is the hardest part. Once you start, you likely won't want to stop! I do my best to make Improv Games a safe, fun, encouraging place... so you don't have to resort to whiskey to start. 😅Take a look at the calendar -- when can you muster up the courage to join us, with or without BYOB? This conversation was inspired by this comic. Can you imagine trying to play with a bass section that was loaded? 🍾🥂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Any stories on this topic?

This is too funny and synchronistic with my life right now, I never drink, ever... but decided to enjoy a half glass of sake last night for my date night, and when we got home I played without as much restriction in my muscles... that inevitably helped lol, funny idea, love it

Metronomes can be boring! Why not practice your tunes with your favorite booty-shaking beats?😅

4.5! Some doubt steeped in, but alas, I quickly went forward which is KEY and started a new flow, allowed it to come through me!
Teach Us Something💯💯💯Where else are you improvising?
This group is not just about me teaching what I've learned... It's about us sharing what we've learned and supporting each other! Let's start a trend of teaching each other. What's something that you learned in your life, maybe even outside of music, that is helpful to your improv journey? Next, the INTROS CONTEST

I taught myself how to sing by conjuring memories that elicited certain feelings the song was conveying. It brought me into the music, it trained me to put my whole being my whole entire soul and focus, into the music, which is music itself. A channel of the divine. I also noticed, an add in, once I started to heal cleanse and juice fast eat plant based/raw, my ability to retain the technical aspects of music, theory, and structures, ect, even with other life things, were exceptionally easier to retain and understand with the growth and healing of neural pathways. Clearing the fog from food addictions and fasting helped me focus and see clearly retain information and learn things that I used to have to push my mind and focus so hard to understand, and now, its fun to learn, I also, GO SLOW, with everything I do, with guitar and singing, I remember more often, to go slow, and you will learn faster, be more solid, and gain the skil easier!
