#1: Introductions 👋 | Let’s get to know each other
Hiii and welcooome! I'm so excited to have you here. Before we jump into resources, lessons, and opportunities, let’s start with the most important part of this community: the people. Take a moment to introduce yourself and, if you feel comfortable, share a photo too. It can be: - a photo of you - a moment from a coliving - a place you love - or something that represents how you travel or build community

Hey guys, my name is Laura 👋 In the pictures, you can see my pilot workation week happening in Slovenia a few months ago. Let me tell you a story of how I got here ... 11 years ago, when I was a student, I went to a local coworking in rural Slovenia (Murska Sobota), where I met a visionary founder at the event no one showed up to. Imagine a small town of 15.000 inhabitants and a mentality "nothing is happening here..ever" in 2015, and the event on Tuesday evening in a place most people could not pronounce or know what it is there for. At the event, the founder challenged me to make my own event with a speaker and make some money. Fast forward a few months: 30 people showed up to my first event, and we called it a success. I've been a part of this small coworking community ever since and got to understand how the community grows through time and how to nurture it. On the other hand, I started a career in tourism, I was a Receptionist, Holiday Vacation Rentals Manager, and in the past years, Tourism Manager and Travel Designer for outdoor holidays in 5 countries. When I got the information that I would lose my job last year, I asked myself: What am I really good at? If AI is coming to replace (some of) our jobs, which skills and knowledge will be essential to have (and a million other questions)... I realized that I have many transferable skills (as does everyone reading this). And I can use it to try out some of my ideas. One of them was hosting boutique events for women entrepreneurs at our rural coworking, and the other was hosting remote workers and digital nomads in our town for one week in a pop-up coworking and coliving spaces. Where'd I get the latter idea? Besides being an active member of a coworking community in Slovenia for years, reading a lot of articles, posts on social media, and professional networks, last May I went to my first experience in a coliving and coworking called ROORAL in Andalusia, Spain, where I worked under lemon trees on a terrace, spent time on interesting activities with other coworkers and colivers, which inspired me to ask myself if something like this is also possible in my region.
