Ways to find spirit guide
I have always felt like someone is looking out for me, in so many situations in life. Lately I am going through a terrible time finding employment for a few reasons. 1) I live in a very rural area where jobs are pretty limited to specific fields that require what I don't have. 2) My daughter has health challenges that require me to not be so far away. We homeschool, so my kids are always home. Anyway, I have been stuck in a very hard time financially for a while. I do not know what to do, anything I'm good at is either replaced by computers, highly competitive and over saturated jobs, or would take a lot of money I can't get to start a business. I feel lost, scared and depressed and just cannot seem to connect to spirit. I pray, pay attention to detail, try to meditate, etc etc. I crave some kind of guidance or direction. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to connect? I've never felt so lost...😔
Book Recommendations
Question: What Spiritual book/author would you recommend to the group? (And a few words about why!) My answer: "The Pocket Thich Nhat Hanh". Thich was a Buddhist monk from Vietnam that has been instrumental in global peace and making Buddhist teachings digestible to the western mind. An enlightened, beautiful human.

@Lou Hart I am sure I can think of a few, my brain is currently blank but I'll think of some to suggest!
Question; Are you able to give love freely but not easily accept it
Most of the time, when someone gives love freely but struggles to receive it, it’s not because they’re already full of it. It’s more grounded—and a bit harder: They don’t believe they’re worthy of receiving it. That can come from a lot of places: - being used to earning love rather than just being given it - past rejection or hurt that made receiving feel unsafe - feeling more in control when they’re the giver, not the one who’s vulnerable Giving love is active—you’re in control, you choose it.Receiving love is exposing—you have to accept that someone sees you and still chooses you. That’s a different level of vulnerability. There’s also a subtle imbalance:Some people build their identity around being “the one who gives.” If they start receiving, it can feel uncomfortable—like it disrupts who they think they are. From a spiritual angle, including teachings linked to Jesus Christ, love isn’t just something you give—it’s something you’re meant to receive as well. Refusing to receive it can actually block the fullness of it. So it’s less: - “they are already love, so they don’t need it” and more: - “they’ve learned it’s safer to give than to receive” The real balance is both:being able to give love freely and receive it without resistance. Do you see that pattern more in yourself, or in other people?

Love this. Something for me to think about!
prayers.
Have you ever had a prayer answered in a way that went beyond all rational explanation? Not just something that could be explained away as coincidence or timing—but a moment that truly felt extraordinary, unexpected, or even miraculous. I’m really interested in hearing about experiences where things aligned in ways you couldn’t have predicted or controlled. What happened, and how did it affect your perspective or beliefs afterward? I’d genuinely love to hear your stories.
prayers.

Once I was homeless and it was starting to get cold out. My kids were little, and we had to stay in a place that had no heat, no stove, no running water. I had gotten my name on wait lists months prior but hadn't heard anything since. One day I was panicking, crying and praying for help. As I was praying out loud for help, my phone rang. It was a lady with an apartment for me. The timing of it was too coincidental, I know in my gut someone was looking out for me.

Ever since I was a kid, I can remember being a soldier and running towards a helicopter that had a door gunner, who I think was trying to rescue me. Then I felt getting shot in the stomach. As I grew older, I would remember a few little details but can't really verify if the whole thing is real. I even remember wherever I was, there were plants with huge leaves. I do still have a helicopter phobia, I can't even stand the sound. I want to run. I've had a few other memories of other times and places, but i never know if they are mine or I'm tapping into something else.
