Here's a personalized poem that I wrote for my friend who stutters. Words are like a small stone, skipping quietly along, the surface of an undisturbed lake. But actions are like a huge boulder, A confused soldier, during a violent earthquake. Speak and it is spoken, Provoking small ripples in impressionable minds. Coasting on the shore of an Ocean, Watching souls that are hopeless, lose focus in the sands of time. Standing on the edge of a cliff, Wondering if, You have the ability to fly. While nature boldly leaps from its nest. Soaring high, Or inevitably dies. You can hear a lion roar, Volcanoes exploding, Or thunder crack. While the whispers of a stuttering child goes unheard, But makes the loudest and most memorable impact. We all paid attention when Barack Obama spoke and became the 1st black president on that unforgettable day. But I listen patiently as that stuttering child speaks, because in my opinion, She has something more important to say!
