How to Build Effective AI Agents in Pure Python
Remember last week's video where I talked about the difference between workflows and AI agents? Well... it kinda blew up on YouTube. 175k views in just 12 day! A lot of you were asking about how to implement these AI workflows. So that's what we're going to cover in this week's video: building effective AI agents in pure Python — no frameworks. Which are actually not agents but workflows... but agents get more clicks these days ghehe. In this week’s video, I show you: - How to implement the core patterns you need to understand - How easy it actually is to build them from scratch - How to piece these patterns together to build applications

I don't understand something. In your example you create a get_weather function and you include that function in the api call to chat gpt. But chat gpt actually never uses that function. So why do you bother? Couldn't you just ask chat gpt to give you the coordinates of Paris, then you call the get weather function with the coordinates and then you call chat gpt to summarize the response you got from the weather api? What is the point of including the function in the conversation if it is never used by chatgpt? Do I miss something?
Youth Use of AI Companions:
According to a new study, nearly three-quarters of teenagers have interacted with AI companions, with one-third using these chatbots for social interactions. Experts are raising concerns about the implications for wellness and social development, as more teens rely on AI for problem-solving and support.

Doesn't really matter. No white collar jobs will exist soon enough. Also, even now bullshit artists are usually more successful than humble people who actually know stuff.

@Gopi Shan I admire your optimism :) Remember, - 80 years ago there were no computers. - 40 years ago there was no internet - 20 years ago there were no smart phones - 10 years ago there was no useful AI - 3 years ago there were no large language models - Multimodal models are just coming out And you are so sure in 5-10-20 years time our jobs are safe?

It seems like there is no point upskilling ourselves in AI. It is going to change so fast we can't keep up anyway. Also, soon enough AI will improve itself and anyone can just talk to it to get the desired result without having to interact with it via API or even understand how it works.
