Proverbs 18:21 (AMP), "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words." I always tell my children that their words have power. I tell them to watch what they say and quote this Scripture. True story, last month I picked up my oldest daughter (Aubri) from drill team practice. She was tired from her long day of school and practice and was dreading going to school the next day. So this young lady says out of her mouth, "I never get sick. I wish I could get sick so I can have a day off." Y'all. Imagine the look on my face as my eyes got big and I turned to her to rebuke her words! I told her not to speak sickness over herself and reminded her that her words have power! Welp, needless to say, two days later, she was sick with a fever, chills, the whole nine, and had to stay home from school for two days! I took that moment to drive home the point (gently because she was sick) that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words. I'm pretty sure I paraphrased it lol. The Lord also used this as a teaching moment for me, too. Not only NOT to speak death, but to also speak LIFE. Over my children, over my husband, over my family, over my situation, over my finances! Ladies, your words shape atmospheres. Speak life over yourself and your home. Psalm 37:23-24 (AMP) "The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the LORD, And He delights in his way [and blesses his path]. 24 When he falls, he will not be hurled down, Because the LORD is the One who holds his hand and sustains him." Today, reflect on your next obedient step. You don't have to see the whole staircase, Sis. Just take the next step in faith. Verse 24, "When he falls," not if, WHEN. Hardships will come. It's a part of life, but take heart knowing the Lord WILL sustain you, and He WILL keep you. What is God calling you to? Will you answer the call? Please share your thoughts in the comments. Thank you to everyone who came out to Tea Time on Saturday! To those who didn’t make it out, we missed you and we pray we’ll see you soon ❤️ Sharonda preached the Word God gave her on keeping our eyes forward. We prayed with expectation for God to show up and He did! Sharr spoke with a confidence that could only come from God. We discussed her book ‘Deactivate, Detach, Discover’ (now available on Amazon), teaching us how God allowed her to navigate difficult seasons in her life. Sharr also shared her testimony of how God delivered her from new age religion while she was vacuuming her floor! She told us to ‘Buckle Up’ with a sermon that was applicable to every woman in the room. I am just checking in with everyone! I know it has been a little quiet in here lately. Shavonne and I took a few days to be poured into to make sure that we are giving you all the best Godly version of ourselves. We are fully charged and ready to do God’s work! We are very much excited for Tea Time this Saturday!! We are believing God for healing and breakthrough as Sharr delivers her powerful testimony! As always we let the Holy Spirit lead us and have his way! Please keep our sister lifted in prayer this week. I would like to welcome our newest member @Damaris Roper.
