Proverbs 18:21 (AMP), "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words." I always tell my children that their words have power. I tell them to watch what they say and quote this Scripture. True story, last month I picked up my oldest daughter (Aubri) from drill team practice. She was tired from her long day of school and practice and was dreading going to school the next day. So this young lady says out of her mouth, "I never get sick. I wish I could get sick so I can have a day off." Y'all. Imagine the look on my face as my eyes got big and I turned to her to rebuke her words! I told her not to speak sickness over herself and reminded her that her words have power! Welp, needless to say, two days later, she was sick with a fever, chills, the whole nine, and had to stay home from school for two days! I took that moment to drive home the point (gently because she was sick) that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words. I'm pretty sure I paraphrased it lol. The Lord also used this as a teaching moment for me, too. Not only NOT to speak death, but to also speak LIFE. Over my children, over my husband, over my family, over my situation, over my finances! Ladies, your words shape atmospheres. Speak life over yourself and your home. What truth do you need to declare today? If you feel led, please share in the comments 🧡 Blessings, Shavonne
