A pondering
With the growth of natural horsemanship in the last 20 years has the horse benefited at all. Are we doing better or are things still tough for horses in our world. I see an enormous increase in great trainers, that is for sure. But the horses seem to be doing it just as tough and we even seem to have more issues with our horses. Is it simply a matter of predators and prey thinking too differently? Or are we becoming too soft and as a result our horses are more emotional? Something to ponder today

This really made me think and do some pondering over. We definitely have better tools and teachers now, but I think many horses still live pretty unnatural lives. Less turnout, more pressure, more confusion. Maybe it’s less about “soft vs. hard” (tho both are still super important) and more about balance and consistency. What do you think matters most?
Body control for gates
Being able to manoeuvre your horse for a gate is just the start of great body control. Here we take you thru what’s needed to succeed at a gate

Colt Starting Skool please join
Can I promote my Skool here? I'm trying to grow it but don't want to invest the $9/month until I have a decent sized membership roster. https://www.skool.com/colt-starting-guru-3188/about?ref=d3d4f9903c10432c996e73dfb28feb85

Hey @Tricia Dew !! Here's a quick tip for growing your skool: don’t lead with the link, lead with the value. Start posting helpful, specific stuff where your people already hang out (training tips, behind-the-scenes, mistakes you’ve learned from, quick wins). Then invite people into Skool as a place to go deeper or get access to you. You don’t need a big roster to start, even 5–10 engaged members makes a community feel alive and gives others a reason to join. That's just something I've also been learning. 😄
Boundaries build great horses
One thing that has really shown up for me with my young horse (Wrangler is a 2 1/2 year old colt I bred) is how little it takes to train a good minded horse: I have done so little with Wrangler and yet he’s doing so many things like he’s done it all before. It’s been surprising but really shows how easy things can be if just the basics are solid. Boundaries built trust. Trust builds connection Connection builds communication.

1000% 🙌It’s crazy how far a horse can come when the basics are solid. Clear boundaries really do create trust, and from there everything else feels easier and calmer. What’s one small thing you did early with Wrangler that you think helped the most? 🐎
