The Risk Manager's Lament (or Invitation!)
Here is something different for all those involved in risk management: While others rush in, full speed ahead, The Risk Manager pauses and scratches their head. "What could go wrong?" they quietly say, While the rest of us charge blindly away. They look at the hazards, the slips and the falls, The gaps in the systems, the cracks in the walls. They spot what we'd missed, and then calmly explain, why avoiding disaster is often the gain. They don't seek the spotlight, the glory or fame, yet when things go pear-shaped, we call out their name. "Could this have been prevented?" we ask with a sigh, The Risk Manager simply raises an eye. For every good project, community or cause, needs someone who understands outcomes and flaws. Not to stop progress, nor stand in the way, but to help us move forward a little more safely each day. So, if you're a Risk Manager wondering what's next, or looking for purpose beyond spreadsheets and text, there are communities waiting that need what you know, Your wisdom, your judgement, your practical glow. Because "Caring and Sharing" is more than a phrase, it's helping good people in meaningful ways. And sometimes the greatest contribution you'll see, is preventing a problem before it can be. Let me know your thoughts and consider joining the Caring and Sharing community!

A Question for Community Builders
I've spent most of my life helping people—first as a police officer, later through Rotary, community projects, and now through my Caring and Sharing books. I'm looking for a handful of people who believe that kindness, purpose, and connection still matter. If you run a community, newsletter, coaching business, retirement group, or simply enjoy recommending useful resources, I'd love to have a chat about becoming an affiliate partner. No hard sell. No get-rich-quick promises. Just good resources, fair commissions, and the opportunity to help people who may be struggling with retirement, redundancy, loneliness, or finding their next chapter in life. If you'd like to know more, send me a message. Sometimes the smallest introductions create the biggest ripple effects. 🌊 Thanks in advance Martin

A question for retirees...
When was the last time someone genuinely needed your help? Not your money. Not your advice.Just you. One of the surprises of retirement is that many people miss being needed more than they miss the job itself. For years, people called us because we could solve problems, support others, make decisions, or simply lend a hand. Then one day it stops. The phone rings less. The emails slow down. The diary becomes empty. Many people think retirement is about having more free time. I've come to believe it's about finding new ways to matter. That might mean volunteering.Helping a neighbour.Joining a community group.Mentoring someone younger.Or simply checking in on a friend who might be doing it tough. Purpose doesn't disappear when we retire. It just changes address. So here's my question: What is one thing you do today that makes you feel useful, valued, or connected? I'd love to hear your thoughts. #Retirement #Purpose #Community #CaringAndSharing #Wellbeing #LifeAfterWork #Kindness
