I would love to make a website for my art, but i’m not sure which web design site to use and what I would all include!

One resource I swear by is my “fun board” collection. I pick up a couple of canvas boards from Dollarama, and when I’m curious about how something would look, or I’m trying a new medium combo, maybe a new brush? I layer it on there. The boards are only for fun- it’s helped me to learn my materials, stretch what’s possible, learn what I love to use and don’t love to use. It also makes me feel like a mad scientist 🤓

When I get into a funk with a piece and I feel like I’m stuck and losing steam, I leash up my dog Rocco and we go for a lap or two, even if it is cold. Being outside helps me to problem solve and he is my ray of sunshine! Bonus points if it is a glorious frosty day ✌️

My favourite mantra to keep me in line creatively is “Ideas are entities that want to be free and if you don't do it …it will find someone else to". This helps me break free of the fear chains I keep on myself and just make art!

I just finished my glass tiger painting this weekend- I made it with glass beads I got at a second hand art supply, oilsticks, acrylic and A LOT of medium. I almost gave up on it on the weekend because I was so frustrated with how the tiger was looking, I was trying to add vines, it was NOOOT going well… so I said fuck it, I’ll just really mess it up, have some serious fun without limits in the studio on a cold Saturday night and then I can always make it disappear Sunday morning if it bothers me that much! So i really “messed it up” with thick green palm trees and more beads (throwing them at the canvas from a distance) adding layers of interference green, glitter medium, thick paint straight from the tube as if it were a crayon… I was having a BLAST! I reached a point where I felt so free and happy and I was in such a deep state of flow. I felt like a kid in art class again. Anyways, I love you glass tiger and I love the process you showed me. I haven’t given myself the capacity to experience something like that, as I am always trying to be in control of my art. This was way more enjoyable and I can’t wait to make more like this in the future!! I attached a picture of the completed painting, out in the snow and a picture of my favorite goopy area I created. I love goop. The inspiration for my art work is a past work. I recently moved and I was feeling nostalgia for when I first started painting again a few years ago.. I made this black and white tiger- I’ve always been fond of it. I wanted to make something just like it but with my new sense of color range and love for neons. Thus, glass tiger was born!
