Goodbye my lovely basil tree
It was a sad day in the garden. I had to chop down the overgrown basil tree. I couldn’t give it a haircut as I wanted to because I have been sick. I looked at it this morning and it decided for me that it had to go. So sinus infection or not, there I was with my Spotify playlist, trimmers, buckets, and sun hat apologizing to the basil plant and the bees. It took 3 hours to find all the good basil to save.

Unfortunately I don’t have the energy to make the pesto so it will all be dried.

I have a second basil tree and in my yard I had to give a haircut to today (5 hours of harvesting= 14 cups of basil). The third pic is after the haircut. Tomorrow’s task: make pesto.
Herbs
Hi everyone, my herbs are growing really well this year in individual pots, some too well and I'm not using them quick enough lol how does everyone save / store you're herbs? Or do you just let them keep growing and not cut them back?

You can hang most herbs for drying. Rinse, take out extra moisture, and string up. The only one so far that doesn’t like this method that I have run into is parsley. That needs a dehydrator. This is Greek oregano.

@Vanessa Lowe they didn’t say organic on them. Honestly, it was an experiment for me. The digging for the potatoes was the fun part. Now I am just waiting for those ones to sprout again so I can bury them. In the meantime, I am growing Spanish peanuts in the container to give back nitrogen to the soil. Also growing comfrey in another container so I can add the leaves into the peanut container after the harvest. This way there is enough nitrogen in there for the potatoes to get started again.
Twin Raspberries?
Harvesting some raspberries today and found an unusual 2-faced one. Anyone else seen similar?

I just started my plant collection. Looking for good places that have zone 10 plants that would survive a beginner 🤪 and love to continue learning
