IDGs & Measurement
Many work environments live by the mantra: "What gets measured, gets done." Does this mean that IDG adoption @work depends on our ability to measure it? If so, is it even possible to measure Inner Development? Or does it risk over-simplifying the vastness of our human Beingness?

@Mark Vandeneijdne To answer your first question, yes. Wide spread adoption won’t occur until businesses can find the IDGs worthwhile. Most businesses measure that with quantitative KPIs. a la @Andrea Klepsch’s experience Unfortunately, coaching has not seemed to progress much on this topic over the past 15 years from when I first got into it. Coaches are unable to communicate their value and businesses are unable to determine coaching’s ROI. I took a detour into education so I don’t yet have an answer to that yet. To answer your second question, No, it not yet possible (in my understanding) to perfectly quantify the inner subjective experience. So my answers to the poll is Both. It is very important to measure the IDGs AND we need to improve our understanding and find ways to accurately communicate the inner state. Since stage change is slow and we can’t really wait around for people to come to this understanding of the value of the IDGs on their own, we might need to lose a little fidelity and generalize the measurement criteria to facilitate greater adoption.
Soul and inner compass
“This was a too big stretch for my soul” said the guy I met at the IDG mingling evening. He was speaking about his former company which was purely Business oriented. Now he is in a purpose-driven company. I thought that it was a nice way to express his inner compass voice. What about you? How do you describe or feel your inner compass?

@Sibylle Breiner I have had that experience myself and with many I have worked with. I now know lots of pain = I should have changed a long time ago. ;)
