I'm 63 and at the end of my career (whatever that was). I started out as a teacher, then worked as a sales representative at a textbook company, moved on to become an acquisitions editor, and then spent about 15 years as a freelance developmental editor. Those were my "corporate years." Now I install storage systems for a closet and organizing company. Frankly, I don't know why I'm here. I'm just curious about this next revolution. I lived through the birth of the Internet and primarily watched it from the sidelines as it reshaped my job(s). I'd like to learn about and play in this new pool in whatever capacity I can. I think that AI has great potential to help bring ideas to life. But even in saying that, I'm not sure how it will do that because I'm still trying to grasp what exactly it is. All I know is that the language and concepts are foreign and I often feel like I'm chasing my tail trying to comprehend it. But I'd like to learn what it's about and see how I (and others) are going to use it in meaningful ways. I'm not sure whether this is the right place to achieve that or not. We'll find out.
