Yoke meditation series #4
I fall in love with Yoke meditation series #4. I know that it is not probably the best project for the first color work especially if I cannot wear wool (it is too warm for me) and I decided to go with combination of cotton for MC and linen + cashemere for CC. I use cashmere to avoid visibility of MC when it comes behind CC. I like the result so far even if it is not perfect.

It looks lovely Tatiana. I can see why you are in love with the pattern. The colours you have picked really look beautiful 😍
Updated Valmiera Memories
Hi, all! I took some updated photos after fixing my original Valmiera Memories socks. I kept the foot portion with smallest size, and made the colorwork leg the size 2 so I could comfortably insert my foot! (Discovered my stockinettegauge was a full stitch looser than pattern gauge, but colorwork far too tight). I'm really happy with them now!

Nice. It’s good that you fixed them so you were happy with the final product x
First ever sock half way there.
First ever sock knitted woo hoo just got one more to go I'm well chuffed only got back knitting today since last post. I have to say I wouldn't use this wool again it's not stretchy for socks and a bit heavy. My sock feels more like slipper sock.

It looks lovely! What is the yarn that you are using and what weight is it? I think you’ll find most hand knit socks knit with fingering weight sock yarn will seem a little thicker than a regular bought sock. I know I felt that when I started knitting them, but you get used to it.

I just looked it up, and it mentioned that it is Approx. 110 metres (120 yards) per 50g ball. I have this handy yarn weight chart and looked it up and it puts this yarn at a DK weight. This would explain the thickness. They would be extremely warm and cosy in winter though and such a luxurious mix of fibres in that yarn! The yarn weight chart came from a website and I saved it to a pdf and use it all the time. I’ve attached it here if you’re interested. :)
