Oh Lord… y’all really want us to go back in the archives! 😂 This was during COVID for my mom’s 70th birthday. I was determined that we were going to celebrate her, even with everything going on at the time. I ordered the Happy Birthday backdrop from Amazon, got myself a photography stand, and rented this gold sequin backdrop. I had absolutely NO IDEA what I was getting myself into. 😂 The gold sequin was too long and too heavy for my stand. Then I realized I actually needed to attach the Amazon Happy Birthday backdrop to the sequin backdrop. 😩😂 So there I was, scrambling around trying to find some pins, and I pinned that thing up the best way I could! Was it perfect? Absolutely not. 😂 Did my mama have her 70th birthday backdrop? Absolutely YES. Looking at this picture now makes me laugh, but it also makes me appreciate where I started. I didn’t know about proper draping, weight, structure, gathering, pleating, fabric placement or any of the things I’ve learned since then. I just knew I wanted to make something beautiful for my mom.
