Have you bought special glasses for this? We haven't but we were planning to go out locally and sit on a hill, using my iphone to video it. However, I've just read this online: Taking photographs of an eclipse risks damaging mobile phones, the public has been warned. Light from the solar event can break the sensors behind phone cameras, leaving them with permanent black spots. Mike Peel, of Imperial College London, said: “Your phone might be able to cope with a quick shot or two, but longer exposure risks damage to its camera and/or can cause the phone to overheat. “You can use solar eclipse glasses over the phone camera lens to protect it, but make sure you’re also wearing glasses when you’re trying to point it at the Sun.” The College of Optometrists warned: “Do not be tempted to watch it or photograph it on your phone, and the same goes for a camera, telescope or binoculars.” Who's got the glasses and filters for their cameras? If you've got some great footage, please share it here later - would love to see it 🌒🌓🌔🌕
