The Solar Eclipse
Have you bought special glasses for this? We haven't but we were planning to go out locally and sit on a hill, using my iphone to video it. However, I've just read this online: Taking photographs of an eclipse risks damaging mobile phones, the public has been warned. Light from the solar event can break the sensors behind phone cameras, leaving them with permanent black spots. Mike Peel, of Imperial College London, said: “Your phone might be able to cope with a quick shot or two, but longer exposure risks damage to its camera and/or can cause the phone to overheat. “You can use solar eclipse glasses over the phone camera lens to protect it, but make sure you’re also wearing glasses when you’re trying to point it at the Sun.” The College of Optometrists warned: “Do not be tempted to watch it or photograph it on your phone, and the same goes for a camera, telescope or binoculars.” Who's got the glasses and filters for their cameras? If you've got some great footage, please share it here later - would love to see it 🌒🌓🌔🌕

@Kay Perrin great image Kay. We had too much cloud here 😢
Move for 5, not for an hour
🚶 Permission slip: 5 minutes counts Some days a full workout isn't happening, and that's fine — a 5-minute movement snack (a walk round the block, a few sit-to-stands to practice your squat position!) still helps regulate blood sugar and eases stiffness. Today, just find 5 minutes. No more required. What's your 5 minutes going to be? Tell me below and I'll cheer you on 💪

Have you tried the Menopause Symptom Checker yet?
I put this live last week and I understand a few of you have tried it. If you haven't got around to it, try it NOW! And let me know how you find it. Does it help? Do you need more info? Grab that pen and paper (or open a note on your phone) and watch my video (link below) 👇 I'll walk you through a simple self-assessment based on my functional medicine training — tick off what's true for you as we go, and by the end you'll know whether it's your Gut, Blood Sugar, or Stress/Adrenals that needs your attention most right now. You're some of the very first to try this 💚 👇 Once you've watched it, comment below with your top area — I'll then personally send you the link to your starter guide, recipes and more for exactly that area. https://www.skool.com/thriveover50/classroom/d04b9e74?md=883e69cb39314321a99ed2dc6b34396d

@Joan Savin Thanks for going through the menopause symptom checker. Gut is often the area that I work with first when I work with my one to one clients. It can affect so many areas of the body and also how you feel! Have a look through this https://www.skool.com/thriveover50/classroom/d04b9e74?md=40b9a03d1d8c4d64a6fc3d0bd593e285 and let me know how you get on.
Fascia Release for Weight Loss — Fad or Fact?
Hi ladies, hope you're ok 🥵 I'm putting Episode 3 live tonight on YouTube, and you're getting a sneak first view of my video before it goes live. CLICK ON VIDEO BELOW⬇️⬇️ In this penultimate episode I discuss: Maybe you've seen it on social media. Someone with a foam roller or a hard plastic tool, running it aggressively over their stomach or thighs, promising that "fascia release" or "fascia blasting" will melt fat, sculpt your waist, or fix the menopause belly specifically. It's a compelling idea. It sounds sciencey. It sounds like a shortcut nobody told you about. So is there anything to it? Let me know your thoughts in the comments 🙏🏼

@Christelle Joubert Yep, agree, the great thing is, it can help your body reset and become fat adapted but it's very low or eliminates vegetables. That can play havoc with you gut microbiome. I'm just researching/working on something that's in between, a kind of keto diet with certain vegetables. Food that optimises our metabolism.🫨
