Disrobing is taking place in a 6/7th grade multi-handicapped classroom. It is my understanding that the student will do whatever it takes to get sent home. Unfortunately, schools and their personnel are limited in their choice of intervention. Currently, the teacher holds a blanket up in front of the student to limit the exposure to other students and staff. With this particular student, prevention strategies are applied consistently, but rarely work. As noted above, the student will do whatever it takes to be sent home. Staff are no longer sending her home for these behaviors. After the most recent incident (a little over a week ago), she has not returned to school. We have received word from staff at her living facility that she is in hospital awaiting placement in a residential unit.
