⚠️ Major Audiobook Update - Please Read
Audible is rolling out major royalty changes for Audiobook payouts, and authors are definitely talking about it right now. Here’s the quick breakdown: ✅ PROS Higher royalty rates are coming: - Audiobooks can now potentially earn from Audible’s “all-you-can-listen” subscription listening - More discovery opportunities for series authors and bingeable content - Authors can now suggest pricing for audiobooks ⚠️ CONS - Royalties are becoming more tied to listener engagement instead of straightforward purchases - Payments may become less predictable - Some authors are concerned about “pooled revenue” models similar to Kindle Unlimited - The legacy royalty system is being phased out by the end of 2026, so creators will eventually need to adopt the new model or leave Audible distribution Personally, I think this is going to hurt smaller creators who only have a few hundred hours of listened time per month in their portfolio, while larger creators who are already making strong audiobook income will likely continue making even more money under this model. One thing is clear: audiobooks are continuing to become a bigger part of the publishing industry. 🎧 Read more directly from ACX here: https://www.acx.com/mp/blog/audible-new-royalty-model

@Krista Brea I agree. But I was just thinking… when you consider that if you get published by a publishing company you get .25 a copy, I guess it’s ok.
Just connecting...
I joined this group because I need to get my book on Amazon I wrote over 10 years ago and have been using as a lead magnet. SO DUMB! I also need to get workshops I've done with their planners on Amazon in book format. I have to do this, time can go like sand through an hourglass and I've got to make a schedule as an appointment with myself and put the time in I need to. If anyone else wants to be accountable I'd be so happy to show up and check in. Thanks for listening.

@Roberto Frigerio OH I feel your pain! I used to be a pro at ranking on google and youtube. People even paid me to do it for them! Then everything changed. It bothered me so much and left me frozen, I was clueless as to what they did! So yeah I get it. Learning something for it to totally change rats! Just sharing how I get it. You got this! Others can and you're here in this group so!!!

What Books Did You Read in Childhood?
📚 Throwback Question: What Did You Read as a Kid? I was thinking back to my childhood reading habits, and it hit me how different they were compared to what I read now. Back then, I was all about fun, fictional books—anything that kept me entertained and pulled me into a story. One of my favorites was the Goosebumps series. I used to fly through those books as a pre-teen. And then when the Goosebumps show came out, it was such a cool experience seeing those stories come to life. I remember noticing how some parts were different from what I had imagined while reading—which made it even more fun. It really made me realize how powerful storytelling is… especially when it sticks with you years later. Now I’m curious—what about YOU? - What books or series did you love growing up? - Were you into fiction, or something totally different? - Did any of those stories stick with you into adulthood? Drop your favorites below 👇 Let’s take a little trip down memory lane.

The Bobsy Twins! For some reason we had the series on a book shelf in my room and I read them. Later I got one from the library and read it to my daughter. You couldn’t read a page without having a discussion about how we don’t go into a strangers house for milk and cookies, Or go door to door asking questions at 6 years old.
