Thank you
Thank you for joining me this evening to paint the sunset boat. This is my version. Key learnings were: 1. make the colours very strong before you go in. In fact in hindsight I would paint the initial wash onto dry paper and add water as you go rather than wetting the paper first. 2. Wait until your paper is completely dry and flat before trying to put your mast in. 3. I should have waited longer for the paper to dry more before I put the second lot of clouds in as they ran too much. Do share what you create and also if you have ideas for future sessions. You might have photos you want to try out yourselves.
Thank you
When does the link come up for the replay please Julie?

@Julie Ford I've tried a number of times but no joy, I'll wait till tomorrow. 😆❤️
Tonight's paint along
This evening we are going to paint this lovely sunset boat, building on last weeks one. This photo was taken where I live. The challenge will be to get the water to pigment ration strong enough to create the drama. So we will be working wet in wet initially then painting the boat and reflections and land wet on dry. You will need some watercolours. I would suggest cerulean and burnt sienna if you have them or a quinacridone rust or orange. Paynes grey or neutral tint. Good quality watercolour paper 140 1b/300 gsm. Here is the link Youtube Paint Along and we start at 7.30 pm GMT Hope you can join me. Looks brilliant, great choice, paynes grey, ochre, Prussian blue, setting the palette colours already! 😂🎨 see you later. 👀
@Suzanne P oh excellent, will be lovely. My iPad though is broken as in the microphone doesn't work from my end, I can hear everyone in the group though. 🎨🤗❤️
Paint along
Thankyou so much @Julie Ford , really enjoyed your paint along. Braved the painting at the same time as you rather than just watch, see if I could do it! Not to bad me thinks.
Paint along
Totally agree @Sue Janssen , plus it kinda puts the pressure on not to faf about deciding what's best to do if you just do it!
Goals
Do you have any art/painting goals for this year?

I would love to draw and paint my family, their garden. 🎨😁

@Julie Ford yes quiet a few, but there is so much going on in it that it's hard to choose, plus I want all the flowers out to paint first
Paint along learnings
Yellow tulips. Next time I would leave lighter/white areas in the tulips and more very light green for the leaves. Maybe even a bluer green. My washes should have been darker initially. I overdid the grasses I should have used alizarin on the tulips and back wall initially to give depth and shade Do share your creations
I thought it looked lovely, enjoyed watching you paint though. Thanks 🎨😍
