Are you planning for your Healthspan?
A fellow community member shared a very interesting article about planning for our healthspan as we age. So much focus is on saving for retirement and making sure we have enough money to take care of us in our LIFESPAN, but my question is this..... How many of us are focused on self-care to extend our HEALTHSPAN? What's the difference? -Lifespan is how long you will live -Healthspan is how well you will live out those years I hope this community will help you expand the duration and quality of your years. Please read the article and share the ways you are taking care of your HEALTHSPAN and how this community can support you. https://drdammhealthspan.substack.com/p/your-retirement-savings-cant-buy?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=6532927&post_id=199486937&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=true&r=5q30f4&triedRedirect=true&utm_medium=email

Yoga and Ayurveda are my life style. I am happy to say I am usually taking steps forward in health. This includes body, mind, soul practices.
Paneer Yay
Hi folks. As a charter member of the better late than never club I have successfully made beautiful paneer! I watched Chef Carol making paneer and realized the major factors that I had been missing in my first attempts. 1. fresh whole milk I think I used possibly old milk on first attempts. The paneer was dry and sour. 2. Patience; oh my just calmly watching the milk as it heated over medium to low heat and stirring it so it did not stick. 3. As soon as the boil came I added the fresh lime juice. I used 2 organic limes. Voilà a beautiful sweet paneer. So delicious and nutritious. Thank you chef Carol.

May the month of the Mother and the Divine Shoulder Balance
Salamba Sarvangasana the all limbs supported pose. Salamba Sarvangasana is known as the "mother of all the asanas". It Is reported to have remarkable healing effects on the body mind sense complex, In his book Light on Yoga Guruji BKS Iyengar tells us that the importance of Sarvangasana cannot be over emphasized. He goes on to say it is one of the greatest boons conferred on humanity by the ancient sages. In May class we will address safe approach to this asana. Useful preparatory movements of shoulder and chest area will be given. Correct use of props, variations, and adaptations to the classic will be included. Please bring 4 firm blankets to this class. With love and blessings Kathleen

What makes a salad a salad
As I was picking out recipes for this month's cooking class about Spring Salads, it made me question "What makes a salad a salad?" Sure, there are all sorts of salads... 🥗 Green salads 🥝 Fruit salads 🌾 Grain salads 🍝 Pasta salads 🥚 Protein rich salads 🍧 Novelty and Dessert salads Many recipes have raw ingredients while others are cooked, some have both raw and cooked mixed together. And, what's a salad without a dressing!! From an ayurvedic standpoint, many salads bring about combinations that can cause digestive disruptions. If you get gassy or bloated after eating raw green salads, you know what I'm talking about. In this week's class, I'll be talking about the importance of ingredient combinations and digestive strength while demonstrating two salad recipes that are easy to digest and enjoy. 1) Kale Salad with Pecan-Honey Dressing 2) Spring Fruit Salad with Ginger-Honey Dressing Let's hear from you....What's your favorite type of salad? BONUS for comments on any digestive disruptions you've experienced with salads, now or in the past. See y'all on Sunday (10am CST/11am EST) for our May Yoga and Ayurveda Live Class

Show me your flatbreads
Thank you for your patience! It took me a few extra days than usual to upload our March Yoga and Cooking classes to the classroom. Both are now ready for you! If you've tried making the flatbreads, let's see your pictures!! After class, I cooked up the extra dough and had some great puffing action with the Chapatis. If you're interested in yoga classes, recipes and instructions, all are found inside the classroom. Upgrading to Premium can be done at any time.
