Dallas really blows me away. I think he’s come up alongside my previous “contemporary” hero of the faith, C.S.Lewis!

Further discussion from 5/8/26 Hangout
I'm posting this here in case anyone has anything they'd like to add after our hangout time when we discussed Hearing God, aliens, etc. 😁 Add your comments if you have something you wanted to share but didn't get a chance to, or if something cool happens with God this week that you'd like to share.

Friend sent this today…… There is sweet movement happening within me these days. I am becoming softer, quieter, and more reverent. I am discovering that the quieter I become, the more I hear. I have found that silence isn't the absence of sound, it's the presence of God. I think that most people have lost the art of deep listening and reverence. God is always speaking, but are we quiet enough to hear Him. The Old Testament book of Lamentations 3:26 and 28 reads: "It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Let him sit alone in silence when it is laid upon him." When we create space for quiet, we begin to notice subtle truths that were always present. Insights and discernment are sharpened, and we sense the gentle guidance of the Holy Spirit that speaks in whispers, not shouts. When our mental chatter subsides, the voice of God is there, waiting to be heard. In Revelation 3:20, God speaks: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me." The truth is, our connection with God deepens in shared silence with Him. We cannot chase peace into existence. It's arrives naturally when we cease striving after it and simply become quiet in God's presence. Jesus knew this. In Luke 5:16, it says: "He would often withdraw to solitary places to pray." For Jesus, silence and prayer was essential. In silence, He communed with the Father. In silence, the prophets of old received revelation. And in silence, ordinary souls like you and me touch the very hem of God. My friends, silence is the bridge between noise and knowing. I invite you cross that bridge regularly, because if you do, you will find yourself at home in your own soul. For me, God's still small voice has become my constant companion. When I am still and simply listen with an open heart, I am at peace. Let's Pray:; Father, today we ask You to help us be still and know that You are God. Please quiet our hearts so we can hear Your still, yet steady calm voice. Teach us to trust You in the silence. We ask this in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
