Totally Tuesday!
So i've basically been ill for the last three days and pushing through it with a nasty sinus infection. I spent half of today resting and the other half adding what I think might be the best totally necessary two weeks ago feature. A freakin MANUAL. OMG. it's extensive and detailed and hidden quite cleverly at the top of the Binder. Please read the Preamble, to learn "Michael's Rule of Manuals". This technique is a decades old secret I have passed on to anyone who has ever tried to read a manual and ended up looking haggard with eyes glazed understanding less than when they started. The Quick Start is there if you think you know what you are doing and the rest is all there. I will be doing a line by line edit of it starting tomorrow as there are some things that are a bit off. Claude and the nonfiction room are good but nothing like a full read through by someone who actually uses it. This is actually version 9 since I started and will be the canonical master copy ongoing. There will eventually be a print addition, but probably not before I hire a better graphic designer than I am (not a very high bar to reach). Screenshots and graphics will be added as well. There are call outs for screenshots already in the text but please let me know if you think others should be added as well. I've already found a few and made hasty notes on my handy dandy Notepad also cleverly hidden in the Binder. If you hit a snag somewhere reading through you need me to address ask and I'll jump to that section and add the graphics needed there . I built this in the Binder so I can edit it live and work with it just like the live document it is. Please critique this, let me know if there is more (or less) that you need. I published it rough ths way because of some of the questions I have been asked recently. I should be able to add links here to videos elsewhere to explain things better as well, **** And if you have read this far I did make it into BIAM this month and will be running through it like everyone else, Just with WCP to see how well it works with Colm's method. I'll post here and on Storyhackers about it.

One other thing, when you import a book you have already written, double and triple check, that you haven't copied the same chapter twice. And you know how many chapters you have, create those first empty files with the chapter numbers first. That way you can double check even as you are pasting in the chapter that it is in the right spot.

@Michael Culp this week would work. You're east coast? How about early 6am your time Thursday? Or after noon evening for you. 3pm my time 6 yours?
Happy Mother's Day
To all those who have birthed children... may you be blessed mightily this day and coming year. If you are alone, look in the mirror and wrap your arms around yourself. Look yourself in the eyes. And repeat this, "Happy Mother's day!" Now, point your index finger at your reflection and back at yourself. "We are going to celebrate. So, get gussied up, do your makeup as if you are going to ball. Hold your head high and call a friend to join you. If you drink have a glass of champagne or mimosa with breakfast, enjoy this time. If you are with family, let them, please let them, celebrate you. Sit back and enjoy the good wishes and hugs, sticky fingered and all. Remember you are the Mother of future generations... and you can be a mother in more ways than one. From four legged kids to two... and the biggest meanest mother on the block when someone messes with your kid. You are AWESOME.

@Stacey Brooks thanks. I'm glad it resonated with. I've met too many women that are forgotten. Just as too many men are for the same reason.
Show and Tell Sunday!

Dealing with the administrivia of life, three teenage boys, and 3 separate businesses I don't sleep much or often. ADHD can be a superpower (sometimes) ****

I'm working on the 2nd book of the Onus Chronicles, my newsletter and blog.... plus I have an event on Saturday... I live in a tourist town and we are in that horrendous heat wave right now. The people down in the valley will be coming up here this week to escape the heat. Here it will be in the high 80's down in the Phoenix add 10 to 20 degrees. So potential readers will be there. Held a debut on Friday night and picked up some new fans. Plus I'm pulling together the swag I want to sell at Phoenix Fan Fusion.
Totally Awesome Tuesday
Time to share our progress. What has everyone been working on? Who needs an accountability check in? On my side, I rested last night for the most part niggling on somethings and woke up this morning and made a couple of big updates. If you look at your User/Settings page it has now been broken into tabs and you have a new "AI" tab. This will give you the full list of models you have access to from your api keys and the ability to turn them all off and only turn on the ones you want to see in your drop downs as choices? Several people had an issue with Opus being the default and they blew through their credits too fast. Two of them asked for the same feature, but I had to do a bit of thinking on how to do it. You can now choose your default model for text and for image generation, and you can still have a choice of a few others if you want to or the whole list. Openrouter lists the cost of use of each model so you can be better informed as to what using that perticular model will be. I'm hoping that will help the situation. I'd love folks to list below their model preferences and what they've experienced with some of the models we have available. Have a happy Tuesday. Might even have to be tropy and find a taco!

@Kathleen Powell Claude can take two books at one time. keep them in separate files. I have three series and am working on the 2nd book each series. Two I have complete drafts, third I am 1/3 to half way done. I gave him the first and 2nd book so he'd have references. My goal is both to be stand alone capable. And the one I am trying to finish by the beginning of June is parallel to the first one. Together both books came in at around 100 k words.
BIAM Discount! Share with your Friends
Okay so WordCrafter.Pro is $22 a month with a 14 day free trial (Discount for a yearly subscription). I've added a coupon for all BIAM folks this month that want to try it an Extra 30days free. When their trial runs out and they have to register they can use the coupon BIAMMAY2026 at checkout and get their next 30 days free to be able to finish BIAM. I've passed this on to a couple folks already. If there is enough interest I'll do an every other day help session for the BIAM folks since the custom prompting can be a little tricky. I'm running it both ways as a test. Founders of course will never pay.

@Michael Culp I watch it and I couldn't see anything. I saw the binder and the right side where you change the ai and talk to it but nothing of what you were saying. I never saw your cursor or what looked like a prompt. In the center of the screen where the editor is was a square covering it saying not a note. Should I have been able to see things?
