🌿 Healing Isn’t Linear (And You’re Not Going Backwards)
There’s a moment on the healing journey that catches almost everyone off guard. You start to feel better, clearer, more like yourself again. And then, out of nowhere, something old returns. A feeling, a trigger, a thought you thought you had already moved through. It can feel confusing, even frustrating, like you’ve somehow undone all your progress. But what if you’re not back at the beginning at all? What if this is actually a deeper level of healing? Because something has changed. You notice it now. You understand it in a way you didn’t before. You don’t lose yourself in it quite as much. Even if it still hurts, there is a part of you that is more aware, more present, more steady. And that is growth. Healing doesn’t move in straight lines. It moves in cycles, in layers, in quiet returns to the places within you that still need care and compassion. Each time you revisit something, you’re not starting over—you’re meeting it with more of yourself. This is how real healing happens. Not in constant forward motion, but in these gentle, powerful shifts that slowly change how you experience your inner world. So if something has come up again for you recently, take a breath. You are not going backwards. You are going deeper. And that matters more than anything. Where have you noticed a shift in yourself lately, even if it feels small?

Hi, I’m Kate šŸ‘‹ I’m an artist, illustrator, and someone who finds a lot of comfort in creating even in the smallest, quietest ways. I’m based in the South West by the sea, which inspires so much of what I do 🌊 I’ve created a space called Smidgen of Calm, which is all about slowing down, noticing the little things, and making creativity feel safe and accessible for everyone whether you pick up a pencil every day or once in a blue moon. I’m really looking forward to being part of this community, learning from you all, and sharing a little bit of calm along the way šŸ¤ Kate
🌿 Can I ask you something gently…
Have you ever felt like… ✨ You overthink everything✨ You question yourself constantly✨ You don’t feel fully safe or settled, even when things are ā€œfineā€ And you don’t really know why? You’re not broken. So many of these feelings come from things we’ve experienced, patterns we’ve learned, and ways we’ve had to adapt just to cope. You don’t have to have the answers yet. Just start by noticing… šŸ‘‰ Which one feels most like you right now? You can reply with a number, a word, or just an emoji šŸ¤

Good morning!
This morning reminded me why I love this little corner of the world so much šŸ’› I wandered to work with the birds putting on their full spring concert, buds quietly bursting into life, and that soft fresh energy you can actually feel in the air. Over the bridge, along the quay, a little peek at the beach… one of those walks where you just slow down without even trying. And then… a lovely little surprise waiting for me 🄰 The pontoon is back in! Such a simple thing, but it instantly feels like everything is waking up again… boats, visitors, sunshine, Easter just around the corner. You can almost feel the buzz building. It’s the small moments like this that make ordinary days feel a bit magical ✨ What little signs of spring have you noticed lately? 🌿
Good morning!
