The myth of holding it all together.
Today is World Mental Health Day — though let’s be honest, for anyone running a business, every day tests your mental game. The last 18 months have had their fair share of blue 🩵 days for me. When you are the one leading, creating, and keeping things moving, there is this unspoken pressure to stay positive — to be “fine.” Clients, teams, and communities look to you for stability, even when you are the one running on empty. We do not talk about that part enough. There are days when you show up out of pure grit. Days when you question if it is all worth it.And days when a simple walk, a chat, or a quiet cup of tea brings you back to centre. What I have learned is this — asking “What do you need?” is far more powerful than “How can I help?”It gives permission to name what is really going on instead of patching over it. Resilience is not about having it all figured out. It is about knowing when to pause, reset, and reach out. For me, early morning walks have become that reset — time to think, breathe, and remember why I started. So, to my fellow founders and business owners — how do you handle your blue 🩵 days? What helps you stay grounded when everything depends on you showing up?

@Deborah Northcutt That is the beauty of nature as a resting place (even whilst being active). I am still learning now that the weather is changing here (getting cold and very dark) how to keep the ability to continue to walk, reflect and enjoy. I am now planning walks for during the day and daylight and working different hours. It is journey to be enjoyed.

@Deborah Northcutt great plan.
The Simple Follow-Up That Gets You Booked
Hi folks, Most speakers lose out on gigs not because they’re not good—but because they didn’t follow up. Here’s how to do it right: The 3-Part Follow-Up Framework:- 1. The Thank You – Send a note within 48 hours after a gig or meeting. 2. The Reminder – 2–3 weeks later, share a win or new resource they’d find helpful. 3. The Ask – Around 4–6 weeks later, ask directly if they’re booking for upcoming events or know someone who is. Speaker Tip of the Week 🎤 Professional persistence beats passive waiting—every time. Maximizing Impact with Virtual Events—Strategies for Online Speaking Success
Virtual stages demand a new set of skills—and the payoff is global reach. Here’s your blueprint: 1. Engineer Immersive Experiences Use polls, breakout rooms, and live annotation tools to keep energy high. Design at least two interactive elements per hour. 2. Optimize Your Tech Stack Invest in clear audio (USB mic), crisp visuals (HD webcam or DSLR), and reliable lighting. Run a full tech rehearsal 48 hours before go-time. 3.Cultivate Virtual Rapport Address attendees by name, spotlight chat questions on screen, and invite short “show-and-tell” moments to humanize the experience. 4. Extend the Engagement Follow up with session recordings, resource bundles, and a “next steps” call-to-action—whether it’s booking a coaching session or joining your membership. Which virtual platform has given you the best attendee engagement—and why? Let’s compare notes!
