Hunger
While pregnant, my babies wouldn’t let me eat anything! Now that I’m breastfeeding, I’m constantly starving non-stop. Any advice lol?

Totally normal Pregnancy = baby squishing your stomach. Breastfeeding = your body burning calories like it’s training for a marathon. Milk production uses roughly 400–500 extra calories per day. So that “bottomless pit” feeling? Biology, not lack of willpower. A few things that help: 1. Eat real meals, not just snacks. Protein + fat + carbs = stays full longer. Example: eggs + toast + avocado, chicken + rice + veggies, yogurt + nuts + fruit. 2. Keep one-handed snacks everywhere. • Trail mix• String cheese • Peanut butter + banana • Oatmeal• Protein smoothie If you wait until you’re starving, you’ll grab whatever’s fastest. 3. Hydrate. Sometimes intense hunger is thirst. Keep water nearby during feeds. 4. Don’t restrict right now. Early postpartum + breastfeeding is not the season to diet. Your body is recovering and feeding a human. Also — hunger tends to peak in the first few months and then levels out as supply regulates. Are you feeling hungry all day or mostly during/after feeds? 💛

@Kayleen Wiant Have good protein snacks around and snack! Those twins are growing.
🤍 Some Moms Want More Than a Class
My free prenatal breastfeeding class is a great starting point. But some moms don’t just want information. They want real support. Whether you’re pregnant and want a solid feeding plan before baby arrives…Or you’re already postpartum and thinking, “Why is this harder than I expected?”… That’s where my prenatal and postpartum coaching comes in. This is personalized guidance for moms who want: • A clear plan before delivery • Help protecting milk supply• Latch troubleshooting • Support with pumping or combo feeding • Help navigating nipple pain, fussy feeds, or supply concerns • Someone steady to ask questions when it feels overwhelming Because Google can’t assess your baby. And social media advice isn’t personalized to you. Coaching gives you direct support tailored to your situation — in pregnancy and in those first critical weeks (or months) after birth. If you’re thinking, “I don’t want to guess my way through this…” Comment “SUPPORT” or send me a message and I’ll share the details. You don’t have to figure this out alone. 💛

@Esme Arias Since baby was born 12/13, your supply is likely still regulating, so consistency matters right now. For most postpartum moms pumping, a good starting structure is: • Pump every 2.5–3 hours during the day • Aim for 7–8 sessions in 24 hours • Try not to go longer than 4–5 hours overnight • Pump 15–20 minutes, both sides at the same time The goal is frequent milk removal while your body is still learning how much to make. If you’d like more structured help mapping out a schedule that fits your day (especially if you’re nursing + pumping), that’s exactly what I walk moms through inside my private support area. I’m happy to share details if that would be helpful 🤍

🍼 Breastfeeding Mamas —Ask Me Anything
Whether you’re pregnant and planning ahead… Up at 2am wondering if this is normal… Or 4 months in and questioning your supply… Drop your questions below. No question is too small. No question is “dumb.” No judgment here — just support. Here are some examples if you’re not sure what to ask: • Is my baby getting enough? • Why does latch hurt on one side? • How often should my newborn eat? • Is cluster feeding normal? • How do I increase milk supply? • Should I wake baby to feed? • Pumping at work — how much should I send? • Can I breastfeed if I’m sick? If it’s on your mind, it matters. I’m Karen — a postpartum nurse and Lactation Coordinator with 17 years of experience — and I’m here to help you feel confident, not confused. Ask away 👇

@Kayleen Wiant Yes 💛 — in most cases, it is absolutely safe to breastfeed or give your breastmilk when you’re sick. In fact, it’s often beneficial. When you’re exposed to a virus, your body makes antibodies — and those antibodies pass through your milk to help protect your baby. For common illnesses like: • Colds • Flu • Stomach bugs • Sinus infections You can continue nursing or pumping. A few important things: • Wash hands frequently • Avoid coughing directly on baby • Wear a mask if you’re very symptomatic • Stay hydrated The only times breastfeeding may need to pause are with certain rare infections or specific medications — but that’s uncommon. If you’d like, tell me: • What illness you have • Whether you’re breastfeeding or pumping • Any medications you’re taking And I can give more specific guidance 💛
