This is so true, can positive and negative emotions just be two facets of the same coin? Like sadness and happiness, sometimes I feel like if I am deeply happy it touches same surface as when I am deeply sad. I am curious to hear your thoughts?
What is it like for you when you experience an emotion? I invite you to share in this thread, what it is like when you are triggered, or elated or whatever. What goes on? Where do you feel it? How long does it last?
@Jeromy Hrabovecky I did not realize that you could approach an emotion from this perspective, I assume observing feeling an emotion is challenging since one would have to do post-factum, especially if I am consumed with it in the moment. For the rest of actions on emotions I can acknowledge their place.
@Jeromy Hrabovecky thinking about, "What" also seems to me a more difficult question than "How". Thinking about I realize "What" seems like at first is not "What" after having some reflection. Is that because I am quick to judge "What"?
What positive emotion has impacted your life? What did it bring to you? What meaning did it hold? How long did it last? Are there any obstacles to keeping this feeling with you in difficult times?
I would say combination of optimism & love has impacted my life in ways I could have never imagined. Optimism allowed to escape Azerbaijan where I always felt like a foreigner. While love made me do things I would not anticipate, such as moving countries & diving into the unknown for sake of love. In difficult times optimism helps me move forward so I always feel like whatever negative we are experiencing, in context of time & space its just a second and will pass away and better days are ahead of me.
