First Attempt MLT ASCP
Hi all, I took my boards yesterday and FAILED! I kind of had a suspicion that I would and once I started seeing the questions I began having doubts. The way school trains us and the sites we use to practice are way more in depth then the actual exam. I don’t have my score yet, so curious to see my weak spots. I’m just still very confused at how complex all of our practice questions and exams are vs. the real deal. Unless, I never got passed easy questions. It felt more like a definitions exam or terminology rather than analytics. Anyway, I’ll take it again but I’m not stressed anymore about it. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated.

@Marilyn Virgo thank you!!!! I will let you know when more score comes in and I love this preliminary game plan. I was going to use the bottom line book this time around and I have a bunch of cheat sheets that I made with buzz words, and so forth like you mentioned.

Yesterday I made the appointment for my exam. It’s in 2 months. Need tips and tricks lol. I’m scared to fail again bc i failed my first time back in october 2024. If you guys have mnemonics that helped you! Please

Frustrated
I’ve been studying and just doing practice questions and I keep getting 50’s! If I do 25 questions with random difficulty I’ll get half correct, if I do 50 questions, half correct, if I do 100 questions, half correct! Clearly I understand half of what I learned in the last year. I’m starting to get nervous now 😩

Hi Deiondra! Thank you for your response. So I’ve been doing random questions on MediaLab and ASCP, I need to go in and review the wrong answers to see where I’m struggling the most. I can let you know once I’ve done that. My work schedule doesn’t give me much time to study and unfortunately during the week, I’m studying while tired.

Good morning all!!!! I finally scheduled to take the MLT ASCP. I’m nervous and need advice on the best ways to study because failing is NOT an option.

@Marilyn Virgo test date is February 28th. I had ChatGPT make me a study binder so each week I have a topic and then subcategories within the topic. I have access to the ASCP BOC mock exams, I have access to MediaLab, I have the bottom line book and the 7th edition BOC review book along with the MLS review book you shared with us. I still feel like I need some direction so I’m not studying aimlessly. I was basically planning to just take as many tests as I can each day. And then examine the wrong answers further.
