Motivation->Consistency-> Discipline 🎯
🎯 Motivation in your life will come and it will go. How many of you felt motivated to hang out with friends one moment and then a couple hours later you realize you really do not want to any more. You did not come to this conclusion because you do not like them. You just lost the motivation to get off your comfy couch. The moment you sat down. This scenario is something that I have been very guilty of. Motivation comes and goes while consistency is the cornerstone of discipline. Consistency is being able to do one thing or some things in a predictable/semi predictable manner over long periods of time Consistency is the beginning of discipline. Discipline is doing what you have to do or choose to do no matter what over long periods of time. It’s the ability to keep working at something hard. 💯 It’s OK to use the motivation to become consistent and discover your true discipline. To be a little extra motivated on a specific day or during a specific training session is one thing but trying to use motivation to keep you consistent isn’t a sustainable method. At some point, focusing on discipline and understanding that this is something hard that we get to work on every day to get better is really the name of the game.

Progressive Overload! What is it?? 🤔
Progressive overload is the art of gradually getting better little by little through consistency and discipline. It’s the “1% better every day” 💯 It’s the “little steps that ultimately climb mountains” 🏔️ ‼️Putting one foot in front of the other every day‼️ You will hear this a lot in fitness and read it a lot on my pages. It’s the key to sustainable health, wellbeing, and fitness. Progressive overload is what drives proper adaptation and keeps you injury free through your fitness journey. By not having great increases in intensity or weight load or endurance bouts you lessen the risk of hurting yourself or running in to overwhelming fatigue or CNS stress ✅When running, utilizing no more than a 10% increase each week in mileage is the proper progression to keep the risk of injury down. Hopefully this helps you understand a little more about progressive overload!
