That was a fun discussion! What are you all reading this weekend?
We had a fun Zoom discussion of Yesteryear by Claire Caro Burke, our first group read! Thank you to everyone who came. I appreciate you! 🧡 Once it's processed, I'll post the AI summary of the discussion so others can join in the conversation. In the meantime, what are you reading this weekend? I'm still reading The Book of Goose by Yiyun Li.

I stayed up late to finish the book...WOW! Intense, thought-provoking, twisty-turny. Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl thrown in a blender with home-grown produce (only semi-organic, wink-wink!), and Martha Stewart Living magazine. A literary smoothie I will enjoy rereading. Sorry I had to miss the discussion. I'll check out the notes, that's a great idea. Meanwhile, I'll troll Goodreads for what the Angry Women have to say about it.

On my ridiculously long commute to work...3.5 hours in the car every work day. Great audiobook time, but I'm very ready to jettison that part of life. Happening soon, wooHOO!
New historical novel about the original "Siamese twins"
You may have heard of Eng and Chang Bunker, 19th century conjoined twins born in what was then called Siam (now Thailand). They moved to North Carolina and married two sisters. Of course, that's a pretty intriguing premise for a novel. One that could go south pretty quickly if handled poorly. The reviews here indicate that this new novel handles the subject matter well: The Foursome by Christina Baker Kline Does this sound like something you might read?

I've read two books by Christina Baker Kline and liked them both. (A Piece of the World and Orphan Train).
What are you reading this weekend?
I'm reading The Book of Goose by Yiyun Lee. This is the publisher's description: "Fabienne is dead. Her childhood best friend, Agnès, receives the news in America, far from the French countryside where the two girls were raised—the place that Fabienne helped Agnès escape ten years ago. Now Agnès is free to tell her story. As children in a war-ravaged backwater town, they’d built a private world, invisible to everyone but themselves—until Fabienne hatched the plan that would change everything, launching Agnès on an epic trajectory through fame, fortune, and terrible loss." I'm loving it so far!
