Ahh got it! Makes perfect sense. I used to require deposit to cover anything I would go out-of-pocket on cash for. In no small part because I didn't have the bank balance. This became harder when I tried moving to more quote-and-work-on-same-day (because deposit wouldn't have time to clear my account in time). When I got my business credit card, it solved that problem, though admittedly I'm still truly going out-of-pocket on these materials. I will only float large amounts (say ~$500 materials or more) w/o a deposit now if I'm working with long-time VIP customers who I know 100% will pay at the end. Still working through the modules so I'm curious to see how you handle estimating/quoting, scheduling, etc. As much as possible, we've been having our techs quote onsite and begin work immediately (when possible). It feels a a bit weird to ask for a 50% deposit before the work begins immediately and then 50% at the end of the job for same-day work. That might not apply to how your quoting/scheduling process works though. Or maybe I should just implement 50% deposit no matter what all the time!
