Hey! I’m Josh from the Sunshine Coast in BC, Canada. I’m a K9 handler working in Private Security, a musician, and a martial artist with several years experience in various styles ranging from Boxing/Kickboxing, BJJ, MMA, to more traditional styles such as Karate and some traditional Jujutsu as well. My focus now being Jiujitsu and Nami Ryu. I’ve been drawn to edged weapons for a very long time, since childhood, but had trouble finding teachers in the styles that I wanted to learn over the years. I did receive some small bits of instruction in Japanese sword, and Western Longsword, but it was fairly minimal. I’ve always had a great respect for the Samurai and the arts they trained in. Not just their combat training, but their moral code and mental/spiritual skills that they strove to develop as well. I believe that as a martial artist, or even in any role or position one finds themselves in, this is extremely necessary. I’m very pleased to have finally found this community of like minded students and incredible teachers. I’m looking forward to the journey ahead with all of you.
