Same Ride - Different Close Call
Same group ride as my last video -- coming from Bronx to Staten Island via FDR-South. For SOME reason the "leader" told ME to lead us home (only licensed for one year at this point... so.. ?!?!). No cardos, no pre-ride prep/route/hand signals/etc... before the ride. None. Just "I'll lead" (and then puts me in the lead mid-way through it). lol Never again with these guys. NEVER AGAIN! You can see the white car that cuts over from the far right to the far left (not wildly) but quickly causes an accident in front of us. I heard Dan in my head -- "emer'cy brake, emer'cy swerving" and "escape path" along with "off to the side so you don't get hit from behind" all in a millisecond of seeing the white car's rear end lift up. Thanks Dan! <3 You saved this girl AND her brand-spanking-new bike! <3 I was in a total panic about what to do after the cars hit with all that traffic, and started screaming "I don't know what to do" "I don't know what to do" lol -- I got a "wave" from Rider #2 as if to say "just go". YEAH???... where!?!? is what I was thinking. LOL LUCKILY the "end" guy had more brains than all of us to give us a chance to get us out. That was the scariest situation I was in to date and may it be the only one! City traffic is scary.. especially at night, on a brand new bike that felt almost too big for me to handle.

Love action cameras easy to review and see what can be done, if anything, to prevent problems in the future. Also great to see what was done right that wasn’t noticed during the situation.
Knee down on public roads
Honest question, looking for an honest answer. Why do so many sport bike riders strive for body position and getting a knee down on public streets? Of course there is the group of beginner riders that think that's "just how you do it", but I'm talking about experienced riders that do it going 20mph around an easy curve. (spoiler: The answer I'm looking for is "it's definitely more dangerous, but super fun and I can't help myself!")

@Diana Ramirez I found it easier when I didn’t do it. I was concentrating so much on the knee being out that when I stopped I picked up the other stuff better.

@Daniel Tolomei That’s what I thought, everyone that I know who rides I don’t see them do it on daily rides. I do see online at tracks and the guys doing a less aggressive version on the twistys on the mountain roads.
Wanting to learn
Hi everyone! I’m from Philadelphia, PA and am eager to learn. I will be taking the MSF in 2 weeks and hopefully will be riding as soon as I find something I like.

I took a private lesson last month. Did okay but went into neutral a couple of times from first gear and had trouble with going from 2nd to first. I kept strangling the throttle.
This girl can ride....

Every time I see her videos I am amazed at all the work riders like her must have put in to get that good.
