What’s Pre-Journeyman Prep? Many electricians, including myself, go into journeyman prep as blind as a new born baby popping out the womb…. Ok maybe not that fresh, but we start our journeyman prep when we have the hours to get certified and enter into this season with no real clue what we’re doing- and most of us struggle because of this. So, I created a system that helps electricians go into this season with confidence, awareness and a good sense of direction. In the Ebook: Study Like A Professional, I pull the curtain back on test prepping so that the electrician can see the whole journeyman prep study process from start to finish. In the accompanying workbook you have the opportunity to answer difficult questions and gain personal insight into how best you should go about the process Why is this important? Can’t you just take a prep course and study? Yes, you can. But many of us still fail and we fail because we don’t have the right system in place. That system is what the pre-journeyman prep course gives you. everyone in this group has the unique opportunity to utilize this work book for free! I don’t know if you know much about skateboarding, but when someone starts out they all want to move directly to learning how to do a kickflip. That want the fancy tricks. But you need to learn to balance on the board first. Then, you learn an Ollie. Only then you’re really ready to take on the kickflip. Why am I talking about skateboarding? Because the same concept applies to journeyman prep. Everyone wants to be able to answer questions quickly, but you gotta earn that. Start with flash cards and learn the 9 chapters: It’ll take you about a week to do this is you have it 15 minutes a day. Learning the structure of the me. Is the key to navigating quickly- it’s the boring stuff that makes great athletes, great skateboarders, and great electrical exam takers. Second: you learn the”How to” by going through a prep book -> that’s the Ollie After that you move to the repetition: that’s the -> kickflip, 50-50 grind, and the 360 flip all in 1! This system always works - Because it builds a foundation and then builds onto that foundation layer by layer, brick by brick.

When looking at a question, certain subjects trump others. If there’s a special location or condition mentioned then that’s your key word. If not then see if it mentions a type of equipment. And go down the list. Here is a breakdown of the hierarchy and where to look: NEC Question Hierarchy 1.
