Introductions
Hi, my name is Joni I live in the Houston Metro area. I have been in the trucking industry pretty much my entire life my dad, my brothers my uncles were all truck drivers and I have drove trucks myself. I did that for about six years and I have been a Pilot car escorting oversize loads for almost 8 years so I would like to get into dispatching because I feel like it’s something that I understand all the aspects of it and I feel like I could be a real resource to the drivers that I support. Ideally, I would like to make around 10 grand a month more would be nice. I am a brand new grandma and my youngest son will be graduating high school next year and I’m just ready to be at home. I loved to camp fish go to concerts. I take cruises just so I can relax and I serve my community in many ways. Primarily, I stand up for and fight for the underserved community. everyone from the homeless to felons to women that have been sex traffic and pregnant young moms youth aging out of the foster care system. I currently run a nonprofit for that and so I am very passionate about what I do and getting into dispatching will allow me to have more time to follow the path that was laid out for me. by God and I am super excited to get started, I hope to work with each and every one of you soon and thank you for letting me join this community.

@Schrodingers Cat welcome I’m always here to lend an ear if you need help and always willing to try to help the best I can. I’ve been doing this for a long time in the trucking industry so I’m always willing to help. Just have to reach out.
Community
I would like to get several things out of this community! 1. I would like to understand and build the proper framework for this business. 2. I would like to build partnerships with other dispatchers all around the country. 3.I would like to learn to negotiate the terms of a contract in a professional manner
Tia from Texas
👋 Hi, I’m Tia! Hi, my name is Tia. I live in Houston, Texas, and I plan on making $10,000 per month dispatching trucks. I want to get these 3 things from this course/community: ✅ A complete understanding of the trucking dispatching industry ✅ The knowledge and confidence to successfully dispatch trucks and work with carriers and brokers ✅ A step-by-step blueprint for building a profitable dispatching business For fun I like to do these 3 things: 🌿 Spending time outdoors and enjoying nature 🎵 Listening to music and discovering new things 📱 Creating content and connecting with people online —————————————————————————————————————————— I’m a newbie to the trucking industry and excited to learn, grow, and connect with everyone in this community. Looking forward to gaining valuable knowledge and building a successful business alongside you all! 🚛✨

@Tia Beaird Greetings Tia welcome to the community. I am from Houston as well. What is your favorite thing to do in Houston?
Negotiating a load
Well, I did it! I negotiated a load, not one time, but twice! Yes, I said twice. I negotiated it when I first booked it, but it was only for an extra $200. Then, when my driver sent me the pictures and I saw it took up most of the trailer, I had him measure it. The ratecon and the broker said it's on 15ft its a partial load. It measures 20 ft 5 in. I called them and then also sent an email with picture confirmation of the measurements and asked for another $500, since we cannot pick up another partial load with our 30ft mega ramp trailer. Most places do not like you to use the 5ft mega ramps to load on. They accepted my negotiation email. I couldn't believe it when the broker told me they could only do an extra $200 the first time. 🤑

@Melissa Campbell congratulations that is the most appropriate way to handle that situation. Not only did you fight for your Driver in this situation but you also retained your driver because you took the time to recognize the need and fix the situation. That’s awesome. I’m proud of you. Keep it up.
Both Sides Of The Phone..
I became the kind of Dispatcher that I wished I had when I was the Driver. Been there. Done that. #FreightArchitect #IQuarterbackBigTrucks✌🏿 #CargoStarLogistics🥂

@Abdur Rashid congratulations you’re definitely making some big moves and having the mindset of being the dispatcher that you never had that is the way to go about it for sure that’s the mindset. I have stepping into this as well. Keep up the good work.
