Side Hustles
Afternoon Gents. I don't know about you guys but at 45 years old I don't have the energy or motivation to retrain into a new career. And even if I did I don't think changing careers is going to give me the kind of freedom I want in life. So for me it has to be a side hustle that could grow into something that can support me financially, that gets me out of this typical working life we all live in. So im wondering what your thoughtsare on starting something for yourselves. Be it YouTube, or some kind of online business? What's your ideas and has anyone began building a side hustle yet?

That would be great mate, would really appreciate that thanks 👍 Like I say mate, ChatGPT is your friend 😂 I also might be unemployed by the end of August 😲 but I honestly think it could be a blessing! I don't like the job anymore, two faced co workers, pathetically weak management, idiotic other road users etc.. if I keep my job then yes it's job security, not bad money, good hours and generous holiday entitlement! But I still wouldn't be free, plus I hate people telling me when I can and can't have my holidays! If we don't take a leap of faith we'll never know!

@Anthony Parkin definitely mate, be spot on that thanks pal 👍
The silent struggle
Let's be honest for a minute. What's the biggest battle you're fighting right now that nobody around you really knows about? I'll go first. Mine isn't money or work. It's more the battle in my own head. I'm trying to build something that gives me a way out of shift work and a life with more freedom. Some days I'm full of belief. Other days I question everything, lose motivation, and wonder if I'm wasting my time. Most people only ever see the finished product. They don't see the self-doubt, the overthinking, or the days when you have to force yourself to keep going. But that's exactly why this community exists. No judgement. No pretending. Just men being honest, backing each other, and refusing to give up. So what's your battle right now?

I'll be honest mate, I'm at the same place as you! Trying to build something too and like you have days where I'm full of belief and really positive, then the next day question everything, just think I'll never make anything of myself and I'm bound for a life of working and having someone else own my arse and being a slave to the money! I've thought shall I just accept it, get my head down for 20 years, save and retire early! But how do you save these days when we're constantly ripped off and pay through the nose for everything! Working til I die really scares me, that isn't what life is about, it's a short journey and we need to try and be as happy as we can! Another reason for wanting to build something of my own is all this ongoing with my health! Currently having all the tests for chrons disease! Off work because of it and basically got a month to get a diagnosis or my employer will finish me on sickness capability! Then the question is, will I get another job with these issues?! Wouldn't be as much pressure if I didn't have kids! Getting out of the UK is a must for us!
Introduction
Hi Everyone. Here is a brief intro which led me to joining this group. Originally from a council estate in Merseyside and worked a decade for the Dept of Social Security. Eventually got married to a lady from California and moved to L.A. in 2005 and started a family. Now in my 50’s and really feeling the strain as talked about in Anthony’s video’s. The cost of living (esp since Covid) and general shift in society have made it hard to get by, mentally, physically and financially. No matter how many hours I work, the pay is never enough to cover the bills.i think my home insurance has increased £500pm over the last year. Cancelling Netflix ain’t gonna cover that. I see my kids less and less because I am always working or sleeping. My health is rapidly deteriorating due to bad diet, a sedentary lifestyle with no time to exercise. If I focus on myself then the bills don’t get paid. I am mentally strong but it’s taking its toll. I stay positive and am grateful for my family and many things. I know we are not supposed to post quotes but there is one that is stuck in my mind and resonates with me. “No one is coming to save you”. Sorry if this sounds fragmented. I am in a rush to get back to work. Hope to get to know you all in the future. Best regards

Hi Ian, welcome. £500pm house insurance 😲 and we thought the UK was bad! Your right about covid, seemed to be the start of the downfall didn't it! I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I do believe it was meant to see how much we could be controlled and they obviously used it as an excuse to hike prices on everything! I honestly thought things would of been better in the States than the UK! Completely agree with the quote, something has gone badly wrong somewhere! Families could live on one parents wage, comfortably pay the mortgage, bills and food shop. Go out for meals and have a holiday every year! Now it's a struggle to survive month to month! We're just existing unfortunately!

@Ian Fisher rant away my friend, it's good for you I love ranting it's one of my favourite things 😂 always feel better getting things off my chest! What really worries me is, I can't ever see things getting better now! So it's either accept it, exist for the rest of your life or try and do something to change it and try and give ourselves a chance at freedom! Might not work and we might fall flat on our face, but I rather try than just accept defeat! What's L.A like mate?
Freedom, what does it look like for you?
To me freedom is being away from the rat race and the noise! I'd like us to be somewhere quiet with a slow pace of life! Obviously we'd still need money but wouldn't it be nice to earn it on our own terms and not have our arses owned by an employer!! I also don't think you can get freedom in the UK anymore, unless you're stinking rich! Sorry to say I completely detest the UK and everything it stands for nowadays!
Men’s Group - The Liminal Order
Justed wanted to share this with everyone about a group I once joined. A private men’s group formed in the US for guys that saw themselves as “Red-pilled”. This was around 2020 under the Biden administration who heavily censored social media at that time. It quickly grew to around 800 members each paying $100pm. It had members from all around the world. The organizer who called himself “Jack Murphy” was banking close to $1 million a year. You might have seen him on shows like Tim Pool as a regular guest. Anyway I joined the group for approx 3-4 months and met up with several of the guys. There would be organized hikes, shooting, and dinners. Some where doctors, pilots etc etc. some where a little extreme by my standards. The idea behind it was good. It was about helping each other build their business’s or projects. For example some guys would help build a cabin for one of the other members. It was always about self development. Everyone was expected to provide bloodwork quarterly along with body weight stats in order to progress. There were also classes for software dev and other subjects. We would have biweekly zoom calls discussing all of the above . The website was secure and identified anyone who took a screen shot with their phone as this was strictly prohibited. Anyway the very Manosphere leader Jack Murphy was not quite the macho guy he led everyone to believe he was. Videos emerged of him letting other guys sleep with his then GF and now wife. And, he was open to sleeping with guys. Each to their own in my opinion but as more stories came out, the entire project lost its credibility and many of us left. I believe it was disbanded shortly after. I am in no way making any comparisons to this group. It was just a story they maybe people find interesting as to the rapid success and failure that can happen.
